  • ENOUGH // When we don't feel enough, we tend to try and prove it to ourselves and others by doing all the things or none of the things. The problem with seeking external validation is that we might not ever get it or we might set up a loop whereby we only get it if we're useful, adding to the do-do-do and bending over backwards to keep others happy as we tie their happiness with our worth and there's nowt more exhausting and brainbending than all the second-guessing that entails. We might not feel good enough for opportunities that come our way or up to a task and so we might find that we procrastinate or self-sabotage, rather than ask for help or take tiny steps to start. The truth is, we're all enough as we are, right now, no matter what. We're enough when we take a break, when we say 'no', when we slow down, when we heed our needs, when we replace those holey slippers and particularly when we don't feel it.

For me it’s definitely the #environment & more specifically #plasticpollution I’m currently on my own little journey to try to reduce my footprint and eliminate the use of #singleuseplastic in my daily living.....and I’ll be the first to admit how difficult it is! We are seriously behind here in the UK!! 😣 .

  • REFLECT// When we go through periods of gnarliness, try new things or steep learning curves, we can feel uncomfortable in the unease of it all. This year has been a bit like that for me; I've not been able to hit my stride, rest on my laurels nor catch a breath and with that, comes a sense of not doing nor being enough. Of not having the tools or knowledge I need. Of feeling out of my depth.

But, it's the gnarliness, the new things and the steep learning curves that help us to create new tools, to lean-in to learning and the lessons, and also, make us dig deeper than we ever felt was possible to get through the thing. When we feel out of our depth, we can choose to wade back into shallower waters and to kickback and take a breathe to ramp up self-care. Or to stop and ask for help.

So, with that mega-reframe, I can reflect and see that this stuff has made me stronger, better equipped and has forced my hand in some boundary-making and self-care routines. Which is blimmin' brill.

With that, I'm going to high five you all for doing good too, and cartwheel back into CRM research.

  • TIME // I find it strange that there's a mentality that as we approach forty, or even fifty, that we're 'too old to' or even that we're getting old because we could only be half way through. There was an eighty year old who was enrolled on my uni course and there are lots of examples of people doing all kinds of wild and wonderful things at all ages (Google it and be prepared to get lost down that inspiring rabbit hole). It's never too late.

In the digital age as you know, we’re more connected but are the furthest we’ve been from nurturing our friendships. It’s so easy to send a text to have a ‘conversation’, but we’re not really connecting, are we? When was the last time you invited a friend out for coffee or dinner?
Ask questions. Get involved. 
SHARE STORIES. 
Let’s be honest... /sometimes/ (I’m only saying sometimes!) we are busy and trying so much to take care of our immediate universe that it’s hard to pull our heads out of our asses to check in with someone else. We get comfy in our homes. We haven’t been out of our yoga pants for 3 days (entrepreneurs, I’m looking at you). And sometimes we don’t have the energy to - and that’s okay! But sometimes we need to remember that reaching out to a friend doesn’t only serve them, but it serves us, too. We all need someone to listen, sometimes. We all want to know we matter, that we’re cared for, or that we need the occasional reminder to laugh! When was the last time you laughed? Like REALLY laughed? Yeah, I can’t remember, either. No wait, that’s a lie. I had a chat with a friend yesterday and we had a few chuckles 😁
Don’t worry, whatever advice I give you I also need to give myself. That’s how advice works. 
In my yoga pants. 
From my home office. 
Writing from my computer as I check my feed from my phone. 😏
What I’m really saying.. Is you matter. Care for your soul now and then. Be social. Go be with the 3D people.

  • Prepping for Spavasana time!🧘🏻‍♀️💆🏼‍♀️ Yesterday’s 🌊Flow+Glow✨ class was a fun & empowering experience.

After an energizing Vinyasa flow, it was so much fun seeing all of my students’ faces excited to put on the face masks. 
I use only “Clean. Green. Chic” ingredients & products which are also #Vegan friendly!

I was also so excited to provide my branded mirrors to facilitate the mask application! @nofaux.wellness .

As they laid down to experience “Spavasana” I shared the love of #mindfullness with my favorite guided meditation which I created for my first private client! Since then,  I made it my staple meditation because I know how powerfully healing it is!
Some healing tears were shed, but at the end my students’ beautiful faces were glowing... and I know it wasn’t only the masks, it was a glow that radiated from within!✨✨👏🏻💕 #thankful .

  • ✨my heart has been jumping all over the place the last few days. there has been a lot of loss around me lately and illness affecting loved ones, as I know far too many of you know this in your lives as well.

I got some heart-wrenching news yesterday about a good friend I grew up with passing away. then there are some very cruel people on the internet that sometimes appall me with their lack of humanity they choose to behave with. it's so easy to be cruel from a distance, particularly from behind a screen-- it's much harder to hate up close.

anyhow, no weekend reads from me today and I may not post for a little bit-- I feel like I just don't have much to say at the moment, so off to tend to my heart and mind for now and I'll be back soon✨hope you all bask in the light that streams into the world, no matter the darkness that may feel surrounding. and if you can help provide a little light for someone else today, do it❤️ #minnalyHQ

  • 16th January : Nothing Day, commemorated since 1973. The day is literally about doing nothing at all, so there is absolutely no purpose or intended structure for this pointless celebration.

The day was first proposed by the late American newspaper columnist Harold Coffin because he was fed up with the plethora of useless commemorative days (pretty much the subject of most of these posts thus far!). He formed the Nothing Organisation to raise awareness to his cause. Predictably, the organization never held a single meeting and these pointless commemorative days continue unabated.

Whatever, methinks Nothing Day, as in loafing and doing nothing at all is probably the most common day of pointlessness enjoyed by humanity worldwide!

  • “Hats have been in the world since at least 3000 BC, as an image of a man wearing a hat of straw was discovered in a mural from that time. Since then, hats have served some incredibly diverse purposes, from simple protective wear to help those stuck out in the rain, cold, or hot sun, to indicating status and rank. Who doesn’t recognize a crown as the ultimate mark of royalty? Hats have undergone an immense amount of changes, with varieties appearing all over the world in every possible culture.” So what’s your favourite hat … mine is the classic panama but I am not averse to the odd peak or baseball cap but definitely nothing floppy for me… We’re not doing floppy quite yet.

  • Grateful for the JTerm schedule that allows me to just music and work out all day 😍. Today @oonandhergoons and @tommialeman hit the gym and then the med deli with me and it was a w e s o m e. In honor of the women’s march happening today, our Devi Diva is Gloria Steinem—largely considered the face of second wave feminism, founder of ms. magazine, and known for so many other amazing things. Wish I could have gone to a march today, but I’ll just have to do a little singin’ instead. 🤷🏼‍♀️ #thefutureisfemale #devidivas #beautyandbala #fierceandfit #livingmindfully

I seriously can not put in words how I’m feeling right now.. it’s the end of a chapter that has been the best experience of my life. “No regrets in life, just lessons learned” is the motto I used so far.

However I guess life moves pretty fast. So now I remind myself that I’ve to stop and look around once in a while, otherwise I could miss the small pleasures around me … ❁ ❁

I’m used to identify three good things that have happened during the day. Sometimes I write them down in a notebook or simply reflect on what those things are, while I’m brushing my teeth.. 💭 If you try, no matter what happened that day, you go to bed happy.
