Ernie unfortunately would not be able to make the trip to Bije's Pizza, so we took a little trip around the neighborhood streets before I left. Winter in Chicago changes you. The first one is a shock, but after five or so, it's part of who you are. By the seventh, you are in love. Or at least we were. We finally felt like Chicagoans.
The masses would have you believe that Chicago is only the Loop. Or the Bean (which isnt even the actual name). Or any of the other touristy spots you see in pics. But what makes Chicago the #Chi actually is all of its neighborhoods. From #LoganSquare to #HydePark and #Andersonville to #EastGarfieldPark . And the people here are proud of those neighborhoods. See more of this beautiful city.
Where do you get your work done?
As someone trying to make her crazy dream @wethevoters happen around a 9-to-5, I get most of mine done on the couch at night after work or in coffee shops during the weekend.☕️ Which means, I’m always trying to find new and interesting spots to change it up.
Dollop is a tried-and-true. I love Printers Row. And when I’m feeling nostalgic, I hit up Collectivo.
But what am I missing? Chicago’s a huge city, so I’m sure there are so many places to explore.
For me, a great coffee shop has:
🔸Great natural light
🔸Strong, delicious and affordable coffee
🔸SOFT background music
🔸A local connection (either a small business OR a local chain)
🔸Enough seating that I can work for a few hours without being too annoying
Does anything come to mind?
Please, please, please let me know your fave spot (or tag ‘em) in the comments below.👇🏻 I’m excited to explore outside my neighborhood on this long weekend.
