Boy, has this sticker seen some miles, highways, byways, backroads and then some. Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas...and that's just to name a few.  Everything from remote kayak trips on sunny days to snow storms in the Grand Tetons. I've never been much of a bumper sticker person, but I'll definitely be ordering another of these.
Funny, I grew up and lived in the same area for 35 years. Thirty-five years. While I traveled extensively in those 35 years, those travels never compared to the travels of the last few. No schedule,  no planned route, no place to be but where I was / we were.
My job has given me flexibility to work from anywhere.  My faith has given me the courage. My family has given me the wings. Never in a million years would anyone 20 or 30 years ago imagine my life the last few years...including myself!
I try to buy a postcard from wherever the adventure leads, and I've got a stack I need to write down some memories upon. Those little nuggets will one day comprise the story of a lifetime. And oh what a life it's been!

Enjoy your time on this earth doing, being, going what/where makes you feel most at peace.
Peace, love,  pie.

  • Today is #nationaldayofthehorse and what better way to celebrate then one of the shots from my "I'm just stopping for 20 minutes - 3 hours later, turning a 5 hour trip into an overnight one" photos.
Last fall, I was able to see a few horses of one of the wild mustang herds, up close and personal. And by up close and personal, I mean I was sitting on the ground as quiet as could be for what seemed like eternity, and two of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen came up to me. They posed, played, ran, and drank from a small puddle of water next to me. After an hour of their shenanigans, they decided they were finished with me and moved onto "greener" pastures. Short of walking in a second line in New Orleans, dancing and singing to the Saints Go Marching In, this was probably one of the most "spiritual" experiences I have ever had. "Horses are mirrors to a man's soul. They'll show you back whatever you show them. Watch a man with a horse, and you'll see what's inside his soul.

The same could be said for a woman's heart. It mirrors what is inside a man's soul, often times unknown even to him."
