  • Mudras: Energetic spiritual seals typically performed with the body's hands and fingers that contribute to a deeper meditational state and practice in traditional Hatha yoga with pranayama (breathing exercises). These gestures create an exceptionally balanced flow of internal forces that enduce chakra openings and streamline spiritual work. Certain mudras can be made and placed gently against the body's heart space for greater physical effects of kundalini (chakra) awakening. Once I learned these techniques I always use them during my meditation while holding selenite crystals in between my palms. My favorite one that I find most effective isn't shown on the list but is easy to form. It mirrors the traditional imitation of grasping a pistol where the index fingers are extended and joined and the other fingers are intertwined and folded together while joining and extending the thumbs and pressing them against your sternum.   • No easy button. No quick fixes. I get messaged daily from people who are unhappy with their progress who have been at it for less than a month. I hate to break it to ya, but if it was that easy everyone would be in shape

I share this photo so people get that I truly understand the struggle and that I have put in the hard work to get here. This did not happen overnight and nor should it if you want it to be sustainable and a new lifestyle. I’ve had to say NO to many things over the years to get to this point. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy fun times with friends and family, but I know how to balance it now

Last week I was 4lbs heavier than my normal and by the weekend I was 2lbs lighter than where I have sitting.
Please don’t place a lot of stock in the numbers on scale. Use it as guide, but keep an open mind that it does fluctuate greatly especially for us women. Take measurements, compare before pics and see how your clothes feel. I still get comments about how much people think I weigh and I’m about 30 lbs heavier than what they think. Muscle weighs more than fat and it’s about how you look and feel not just the numbers!

This did not happen overnight and nor should it if you want it to be sustainable and a new lifestyle. I’ve had to say NO to many things over the years to get to this point. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy fun times with friends and family, but I know how to balance it now

    Please don’t place a lot of stock in the numbers on scale. Use it as guide, but keep an open mind that it does fluctuate greatly especially for us women. Take measurements, compare before pics and see how your clothes feel. I still get comments about how much people think I weigh and I’m about 30 lbs heavier than what they think. Muscle weighs more than fat and it’s about how you look and feel not just the numbers!

Why wait till February which is considered Black History Month. Young people get knowledge of self everyday! This is a part of History!

  • ARE YOU COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN?

This is an interesting question and my prediction is that most people are not.  I know I have days where I am and days where I am not… and I feel this is part of the human journey (or at least the Western one). We all carry insecurity and programming from the family and society we live in and the norms that say we need to be, act, and look a certain way.

But what if we ALL felt good within ourselves exactly as we are in each moment? 
Even when we are having a bad day, carrying excess weight, fighting an illness or addiction, or just not living up to our highest potential?

How different would the world be if we embraced diversity and people were truly celebrated for being unique?  Imagine if everywhere you went you were admired for the light that shines from within rather than judged by standards you never wanted to live up to?

What do YOU think it would take to live in such a world?

  • Whether we are in a relationship or not, one of the best relationships we must keep working on is the one we have with ourselves. It's easier to do when we are in a healthy relationship, but in an abusive one, it becomes so much harder as we are trying to survive, trying to keep the other person happy, trying to foresee what is going to happen when they get home. I found that was the time I neglected myself the most. Always living in fear of what the other person could do, taking the blame if my children in his eyes had done something wrong. In fact all of my life was focused on trying to keep him happy. 
The freedom I have now, is nothing compared to how my life used to be. I love being with me, I love investing in myself, I love my relationship with my children. But to get to that stage was so much hard work, I guess it's why i value whom I am today

  • Starting 2019 like 💪🏽 after the holidays and so much time out of routine splurging, indulging… I love to take some time to focus on rebalance resetting refocusing. Getting my body back to a more natural state vibrating on a higher level. Eating whole foods, natural fresh delicious foods. releasing sugar cravings, cravings for fatty foods. I love to cleanse the body and reset physically, spiritually, holistically. Water, lemons, ginger, grapefruit, green tea, broccoli, help release toxins and detox the body. Implementing these foods/drinks with a more whole natural diet and limiting processed sugary foods brings the body back to a more natural state. I start every morning with lemon water. Love to add ginger to my teas. Green tea is so nourishing, improves brian function and has fat burning properties. Grapefruit is great for immune system, packed with vitamin C, helps with appetite control, and is so refreshing to the pallet. Broccoli has collagen, vit C K, packed with antioxidants, and happens to be my favorite vegetable. Practicing a little discipline and having some focus helps redirect my mind and body to a more natural healthy state. Implementing these strategies helps me release excess fluid and inflammation.  Focusing on raw fruits and vegetables, getting the most out of natural living foods helps my mood and  my mind and body overall to feel lighter and vibrate higher. The benefits feel great and rewarding. Embracing the power of choice.  More natural, healthy, whole
