Not Panama City Florida, but Panama City... the capital of the Rebublic of Panama...in Central America!
.
Not too many pics circulating on Instagram about Panama.
.
But Panama City is considered the most cosmopolitan capital in Central America.
.
A beautiful city that I was able to visit a few years ago. Filled with so much to see and eat.. the country was certainly a treat!..lol
.
I wonder how different it is today...🤔..
.
Hope to visit again soon. Until then, I'll reminisce with pics!

  • Oh, Casablanca. Honestly, I was not excited to visit Casablanca. Most of the articles I'd read described it as uninspiring or underwhelming. I wasn't exactly jumping out of my seat to be there. Upon our arrival into Casablanca, my friend insisted that we stop by the Hassan II Mosque. I wasn't thrilled as I'd visited Sheikh Zayed in Abu Dhabi, a mosque so beautiful and ornate that it brought literal tears to my eyes. That would be hard to top.
•
•
We pulled up to the mosque and my jaw immediately dropped. My eyes widened. My pulse began to race (this often happens when I feel I'm on the brink of great photos 😂). It was magnificent! My heart was filling with joy. I busted out of the car and began quickly shuffling across the courtyard. My sister yelled out to me "slow down!" The sun was starting to set, and a golden glow was soon to dance across the infinite mosaic tiles. •
•
Crap, I could feel those pesky tears from the Sheikh Zayed mosque welling up again. Something about this place spoke to me. Maybe it was the palatial architecture, or the intricately designed mosaic tiles, or the fact that it sits just on top of the Atlantic Ocean, or the children gleefully playing in the courtyard, or the numerous families that welcomed us to their place of worship and took pictures with us...or maybe it was simply the stark contrast between what I'd read and what I ultimately experienced there. I will say this, I can't wait to go back, and next time I'll be ready. •
•
There's more! After dinner, we were meant to head straight back to the hotel in preparation for an early flight. Do you think that happened? Nope, we are busy bodies and heard some music just down the way from the restaurant. We made our way towards the sound (something we do often actually), and discovered a strip of clubs. We entered the one that seemed the most lively, and were delighted to find that they were playing Afrobeats and hiphop. Before we could get stuck in one place some lively locals had pulled us into their dance circle. We danced the night away with them. It was a night we will never forget.

  • What started out as a quick trip to celebrate the homie’s birthday, turned into an all out adventure the other week. I was amazed at how so many of my previous adventures collided in this weeklong trip.
🗽
I saw my favorite podcasters live at Madison Square Garden, was able to connect with guests from the @pointnoirshow, ran into a slew of music family from across the world.. got turnt exploring the NY music scene and ended up on a China bus to turn up more in Philly... and that’s not even the half of it. Few hours were wasted in the Big Apple!
🗽
Even though I grew up not far away near Philly, that was my first time really spending time in the city. Staying in Brooklyn and Hoboken and battling traffic across almost all of the boroughs made it clear that I won’t be moving there anytime soon (not to mention the crazy rent).. but I could def stand to visit more often😸
🗽
It was great to take in new experiences and remind myself that adventure is really just a state of mind. Give yourself the permission to stay curious and flexible and mostly any moment will reveal surprises that lead to worthwhile stories...

🎙
After 5 months and 23 sessions, I have NOT found a regular groove for doing my show intros! I stopped being so canned (check the first few shows🙃) and now try to flow naturally. I’m still exploring being “me” in this medium AND make it interesting for listeners... flubs and all.
🎙
It helps to do a few runs to get my thoughts out, and voice warm because reading on a paper would feel weird. But the rest.. is riffing.. similar to the interviews. THAT... is my shxt!!! All my guests freak out a little when I tell them they can’t prepare for the show... however, the interviews be LIT!🔥💯
🎙
BTW: I like to do my intros the morning I drop a new show because my voice has a bit more bass, and it feels right to create the beginning of my show with the day’s new energy🙌🏾🌤👌🏾

  • 🇰🇼 Kuwait. I got a lot of warning about coming to a Muslim country. Mostly that men would treat me with disrespect. But while there is a dominant male culture, these people are kind, polite, and respectful. The men seem very family oriented and not at all how Muslim men are portrayed in media. And these people are damn wealthy lol. Kuwait is the fourth richest country in the world per capita and one of their dollars is equal to about $3.50 USD. Travel isn’t just about the pictures and the experience. Its about breaking down barriers that bigots and xenophobes set up to push their own agendas. Go see the world for yourself. #seetheworld #breakbarriers #travel #blacktravelclub #melanintravelclub #theworldisyours #solotravel

  • D-3 to 28 // Ella at the Plaza👸🏾: A short story 👇🏾
___
This day was probably the most fun day of my NYC trip. If not, it's a solid top 3 contender. See what had happened was, as part of the trip I joined Bae for a couple of days on his uni reunion tour and we signed up for some of the activities on the programme. On this particular day, we got a private tour of the entire Lincoln Centre complex, then a private tour of the Plaza hotel followed by a cocktail reception at said Plaza hotel and finally an after party at, what I can only describe as an Upper East or West 🤷🏾‍♀️ Side gastropub with free booze and foods freely flowing.
___
Now friends, please peep the shoes on my feet. I'm not new to wearing them, I've had them for years. I've run across London in them plenty of times and survived. That said, I hadn't worn them in about 2 years prior to this trip; I hadn't worn any heels in 2 years for that matter. I think my ladies can guess where this story is headed🙈.
___
So, not having worn these shoes or any heels for 2 years, I decided to pop these bad boys on, on the day we were to be trailed around from venue to venue, attending a standing cocktail as well as an after party. Ha.Ha.Ha.Ha... Seriously HA!. What the fuck was I even thinking? Trying to be cute and snatched in my gold dress. HA!.
___
By the end of the first tour (2hours😅) I was holding onto Bae for dear life crying internally trying not to pass out. Now at The Plaza, we had to join a second tour 😭 and I swear I've never found so many options to glamorously lean against furniture.
___
I didn't even make it to the end of the Plaza tour though. I stumbled out on bleeding feet, got into an overpriced rickshaw ($40😬) for an 8min ride to the nearest H&M to buy some flats. That salvation was worth it, I would have paid $100 at the time if I had to.
___
Now that my feet were saved though, the party could start. Man and party WE DID! I met the lovely @_anunu_ and @og_dollyx3 who became my partners in crime for the night.
___
Bae and I ended the night on top of the Empire State at 1am in the morning and my drunk petty ass decided to break up with the shoes. They never made it back to London.
THE END!
