  • 🚫These mistakes could be slowing your fitness journey.❗️
.
Fitness for me is a never ending learning experience. When I first started my goal was just to get in and out as fast as I could, cardio everyday, weights twice a week, and lifting light, fast and carelessly. If I knew what I knew now, my results would be much more significant.
.
▪️ FOCUS ON TEMPO: rushing an exercise does you no good, time under tension is where your muscle really does all the work.
.
▪️EXECUTE YOUR MOVEMENTS WITHOUT WEIGHT BEFORE PICKING UP THE WEIGHT: it’s hard enough to contact a muscle without weight, focus on executing perfect form sans weight before you decide to pick up the iron
.
▪️YOU CANNOT SPOT REDUCE: instead on focusing on losing fat in one area (which is impossible to do alone) focus on building an overall, well structured body that turns into a fat burning machine.
.
▪️MAKE SURE YOU’RE ALWAYS CHALLENGING YOURSELF: a huge reason people plateau is because they don’t step their game up, they continue using the same weights, reps and tempo. Change it up, add more weight, or reps or slow down the tempo
.
▪️TIME YOUR REST PERIODS: keep that HR up, and don’t dilly dally. If you have an hour to workout, your clock for 60 min and challenge yourself to complete all the workouts in that time frame
.
▪️DON’T OVERTRAIN: overtraining a huge reason some people don’t see results. Rest days are just as important. Your muscle have been through a lot, they need time to recover to be able to continue to grow.

  • I picked up these shoes randomly at the mall for really cheap like $30 about 3 years ago.. They are so worn out.. Every time i decide to throw them out, I tell myself ok i'll wear it one more time.. and when I do.. I get several compliments! My best purchases are the ones I never think about twice lol.. Should I throw them or keep them?

THE WORD IS OUT ➡️ MULTI-SPORT IS THE BEST OPTION .
.
.
When kids specialize early in one sport, they miss out on important skills, and many get injured, burn out, or quit. That’s why top athletes and sports experts say the same thing “let kids play as many sports as possible”. .
.
.
Thinking about being a sport star? Don’t specialize as a youngster. Research from North America, Russia, and Denmark show that there is no evidence that intense training and specialization before the age of 14 is necessary to achieve elite status. But Why? .
.
.
1️⃣ Physical literacy - Kids benefit from developing a variety of movement patterns and skills (physical, mental, and emotional) that ultimately make them better in their own sport.
.
.
.
2️⃣ Injury - There is more than enough research that emphasizes the problem of overuse injuries to tendons, ligaments, and growth plates due to premature specialization. .
.
.

3️⃣ Burnout - Practising the same sport relentlessly leaves kids fatigued and stressed in their early teenage years. Premature specialization increases the chances of teenagers quitting their sports altogether, because they are weighed down by years of arduous training and less freedom than their friends. .
.
.
4️⃣ Fit - Athlete’s who pick a single sport later, have longer to try a range of them - which means they can pick the one that is the best fit. .
.
.
Sports like #FigureSkating #Gymnastics #Diving #Dancing have traditionally required early specialization. We’re not so sure. But definitely sports like #Hockey #Soccer #Basketball #Baseball #Tennis at e late specialization sports. .
.
.
So when should your child specialize in one sport? Just ask them. Maybe they don’t want to, and that’s OK. ————————————————————————- Please visit @activeforlifeca for more (video and content cred)
