From endless high altitude alpine lakes to dreamy meadows filled with wildflowers, breathtaking 7,000-meter peaks, and huge landscape contrasts, Kyrgyzstan is home to some awesome scenery!
Moreover, the Kyrgyzstan mountains are very accessible and, thanks to the very visible nomadic life, you can get a warm meal above 3,000 meters, at the most unexpected times. so far this winter has been amazing - cold enough to feel invigorated but warm enough that your ears don’t freeze off. I knew I missed living somewhere with seasons but I didn’t realize how much.. there’s something so peaceful about winter, ya know?
By far my favourite experience in Patagonia was on this morning. Climbing up at 11pm at night during a heavy snow storm didn't seem like the smartest idea at the time. Miraculously the snow stopped and the clouds cleared 1 hour before sunrise. It was truly like a winter wonderland and I had so fun shooting that morning. So much fun that I didn't even feel the cold while shooting knee deep in this icy cascade.
This area is quite difficult to find and to my knowledge was made popular and named by Andrew Waddington. To get this perspective I had to do a focal length blend consisting of the foreground taken at 16mm and the mountain which was shot at 35mm. It was extremely hard to get a clean image from this angle as I only had a few seconds to shoot an image before my camera would become completely drenched in water. Then I'd have to wipe everything down and try again for another few seconds, all while standing knee deep in the powerful flowing river.
When tomorrow comes
I’ll be on my own
Feeling frightened of
The things that I don’t know .........
& though the road is long
I look up to the #sky & in the #dark I found,
Lost hope that I won’t fly & I sing along, I sing along,
I #sing along ........
I got all I need when I got you & I
I look around me & see a #sweet life
I’m stuck in the dark
but you’re my #flashlight
You’re getting me, getting me
through the #night ..........
I see the shadows long
beneath the #mountaintop
I’m not #afraid
when the #rain won’t stop ‘Cause you #light the way,
you light the way, you light the way
Happy Monday! I love to sleep, and this weather (plus the fact that it’s Monday) is making me SO SLEEPY! I’m missing the warmth of AZ. So naturally I’m reflecting on times I haven’t slept well in the past.
😴 @anthonyzski is one of the very few reasons I’ve ever stayed up all night, on a bean bag chair on the floor in his dorm room, watching B movies and Llamas with Hats so that he wouldn’t miss his alarm clock for an early event. He probably just made that up so I wouldn’t feel bad that I invited him to watch the first movie at 2am...
I disrupt Anthony’s sleep all the time - the fun times were by dragging him out to watch the sunrise on the beach on spring break, and on this mountaintop on Christmas 2018.
It was hard to stay/get up all those times but it was always worth it! What do you stay up late or get up early for?
