  • "365 days clean & sober, and even the worst one of them was better than my best day in active addiction. I could not be more grateful for everyone on my journey to recovery. I remember sitting in rehab listening to people’s speeches who had returned to pick up their one year chip.
I glanced down at my journal where I had been keeping track of my days in rehab.
I remember thinking “I can’t imagine making it to one month, let alone to one year.”
I guess that’s why this is a one day at a time thing huh?
One step at a time, one day at a time, I stayed sober, and enough of those days strung together.
Now i will be one of those that return to treatment in order to pick up my one year chip.
I can hardly believe it.
I hope there is a girl sitting there like I was. I hope there is someone that is even just a little bit inspired by something I say and although I may not know it, I hope something I offer will help the next person stay clean and healthy.
To all the people who may be struggling—you are not alone, and if I can do it, you certainly can.
I am so lucky to be alive and to have gotten another chance to choose recovery.
Thank you to all that have made me feel worth being believed in.
You have taught me more than you know and I am gradually getting to a place where I can help others, because all of you have helped me. Thank you.

  • As a symbol, Shiva Nataraja is a brilliant invention. It combines in a single image Shiva's roles as creator, preserver, and destroyer of the universe and conveys the Indian conception of the never-ending cycle of time. Although it appeared in sculpture as early as the fifth century, its present, world-famous form evolved under the rule of the Cholas. Shiva's dance is set within a flaming halo. The god holds in his upper right hand the damaru (hand drum that made the first sounds of creation). His upper left hand holds agni (the fire that will destroy the universe). With his lower right hand, he makes abhayamudra (the gesture that allays fear). The dwarflike figure being trampled by his right foot represents apasmara purusha (illusion, which leads mankind astray). Shiva's front left hand, pointing to his raised left foot, signifies refuge for the troubled soul. The energy of his dance makes his hair fly to the sides.   • [FOOD] Uzemljenje je važno..
Joga praksu započinjemo osvještavanjem uzemljenja u Tadasani kada iz tri točke na stopalima rastemo prema gore. Uzemljenje nas čini sigurnima, centriranima i daje nam osjećaj pripadnosti izvoru snage i života. Kombinirajući u svojim obrocima povrće koje raste pod zemljom kao korijen dodatno jačamo snagu uzemljenja koja nam je neophodna za energiju rasta i razvoja. Jednostavno jelo koje snažno stimulira uzemljenje je juha od batata i mrkve. 
Sastojci: 1/2 šalice izrezanog narančastog batata, 1/2 šalice izrezane mrkve, 1/4 šalice crvene leće, 1 manji crveni luk, 2 češnja češnjaka, 1 mali komadić đumbira, 1/2 korijena kurkume, 2 žlice maslinovog ulja, 0,75l povrtnog temeljca, malo soli i crnog papra, 2cm kombu alge. 
Priprema: Izrežemo luk na manje komade i prodinstamo na maslinovom ulju. Kada luk lijepo zamiriši dodajemo leću, đumbir, kurkumu i češnjak te nastavljamo dinstati dok leća ne dobije finu caklinu od maslinovog ulja. Dodamo batat i mrkvu i još par minuta dinstamo. Izdinstano povrće i leću prelijemo temeljcem, dodamo kombu algu, papar i malo soli. Juhu poklopljeno kuhamo nakon što prokuha još 15-ak minuta. Iz gotove juhe uklonimo kombu algu, zasolimo dodatno ukoliko je potrebno i sve prebacimo u blender i blendamo do kremaste strukture. Gotovu juhu vratimo u lonac i po želji začinimo sa malo limunovog soka ili hladno prešanog ulja po želji.

It's January, it's freezing cold out there, the days are still short, and seems like no amount of cycling or coffee or cake can pick me up.

What if I turn inwards?  15 mins on the mat with my own beam of light.  Find peace with myself.  #namaste .
15 mins of peace later, I'll have the energy to spend the next hour rushing to get the little one to school in time.  Well worth it!  Lol
