  • Here’s some help when it comes to dealing with those “nickels and dimers” that want to squeeze you and try to haggle you down on price.
.
Remember, you’re an expert in what you do. You do not negotiate on price.
.
You negotiate on value. 👊
.
Thoughts? 🤔 Drop them below and let’s converse on this...

  • The 90-Day Career Diet isn’t a “one and done” exercise, like losing 15 pounds before the next college reunion. It’s a lifestyle change, like committing to a better diet and regular exercise. Click the link in our bio to recap what we’ve learned so far: understanding yourself, targeting opportunities, networking, resume creation and preparing for the interview. #linkinbio

  • When I visit with people who are considering whether or not they want to #Sell and hire me as their #Listing agent for their home; I evaluate the current condition of every #Indoor and #Outdoor space. Sometimes we might only #Declutter, #Freshen up and #Stage spaces. But other times I recommend a light #Remodel and introduce them to my network of professionals to update their #Home. I provide a #Market #Analysis to determine current and future value. This helps get maximum #ROI for Sellers.

When people hire me to #Buy a home and consider a #FixerUpper or #Flip as an #Investor; then I still evaluate each space that may have deferred maintenance or need a lot of work with he same approach. Except, when people don't stage or update a home, this allows me to #Negotiate aggressively for my clients.

  • Though adopting a monetary mindset may satisfy our everyday needs efficiently, it serves us poorly when we apply it to our biggest problems.

We need a better mindset. Look to a “mostly forgotten,” different type of economic transaction in this new book from Brian Gunia. You’ll be reminded of the essential features of the bartering mindset and learn to:
•	Apply it to modern negotiations
•	Devise better solutions to big problems
•	Deploy integrative negotiation behaviours
Learn more and read a sample chapter. (Link in bio.)

  • OFF AND ON THE HOOK
.
.
We are used to the first part. When a person manages to get himself off the hook, he is now free (in the way a fish negotiates its freedom from a fishing hook). If it is an unpleasant situation, I agree that it’s a good thing to be off the hook.
.
.
But when off the hook means a form of hiding and a tactic for steering clear off the locus of tangible responsibility, then it’s not a good thing. When off the hook, means you can be present in an environment and still be invisible at the same time because you are refusing to be the guy who raises his hand to lead due to the fear of failure, then it is not a good thing.
.
.
The thing is, you might be able to get by on the short run by hiding…you would be escaping the tension, pain, vulnerability associated risks and emotional labour by being off the hook but that’s only how far it gets. You wouldn’t be able to achieve much by hiding. But if you are willing to put yourself in the ring and to dance with the tension, willing to accept that what you have decided for just might not work, then you will be setting yourself up for a kind of success that is not common. You will be separating  yourself from the pack as the guy who dares what others run from. And it turns out only these kinds of persons emerge really successful.

  • Carry the belief that you are always providing more value than you’re asking for in return.

Make the value that you bring to the table as clear as possible. The value you're asking for in return also needs to be clear.
If you don't display confidence in what you're asking for, you won't instill confidence in those you ask.

  • The I Lesson Learned When Buying “Mom Jeans”...
.
Day 109/110 SAVRS 👍🏽👍🏽 .
.
So, it took me a little bit of time to get on the whole high waist “mom jean” train. I mean, I thought that I loved my hip huggers..🤷‍♀️but now that I have boarded the train🚞 they are my favorite style. Simply because I bend over way toooo much to be in hip huggers!! 😆 .
.
Anway, This is Where The Lesson Comes In: When we were in Vegas, during date night, I came across a @levis store and wanted to try on a pair of pants that I had been eyeing for weeks, online. But they didn’t have them in stock😞 The salesman then said he could find them online and offered me free shipping anywhere in the US, with free returns and if I went through him, he would give me 20% off!...Cool! Sounds like a fair deal and good plan..! .
.
20% though…couldn’t hurt to ask “Is that the best you can do?” I mean I know we are in a retail store but…is that the best you can do⁉️”
.
.
.
I had a customer who said that she always asks, “Is that the best you can do” before making her final purchase. ALWAYS. .
.
So I did…and the kid said, “Um, actually I could give you 40% off” So, these $100 pair of jeans, were then discounted to $60 and Best of All They FIT!! They’re my new fav jeans. .
.
Lesson here: Have Fun, Be Assertive and even in “higher end” retailers, You CAN Ask “Is that the best you can do?” because now I got an outfit for $100 instead of Just a pair of jeans! 🙌🏽 .
.
Also, my husband makes fun of me because I have 3 pairs of jeans, that I circulate, all with tears in the knees….🐺🤷‍♀️I like the style! 😆 .
.
.
Are you in the practice of negotiating…❓ How about a fav pair of jeans that just fit so good, you can’t give up? Where did you get them❓
