They call New Mexico the Land of Enchantment with good reason. One of my most memorable experiences was driving to mineral hot springs for relaxing 1 on 1 time with me and the Rio Grande. Landscape photos could never do it justice, but the views are so breathtaking and magical. Really helps put your mind into perspective. I came from this entire trip so much more grounded because of experiences like this one. #Hack : these types of hot springs are a fraction of what a “hotel spa” or such would charge. And you’re supporting small, local businesses! 💦
I thought I’d share one of my favorite quotes with you all today.
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity.
He said “Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.” Don’t live to work. Work to live!
#FBF A getaway to beautiful Inn of the Mountain Gods and a little Blackjack and Poker. Believe it or not, I was preggo in this pic. Can you tell? Does my outfit throw you off? Lol. Check out my YouTube video from last night on my mini affordable maternity clothing haul. Link is in my bio 😊
FLEA MARKET FRIDAY!
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure... This vintage (1950’s) chandelier in our bathroom was purchased from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Albuquerque and was only $65! The best part, it didn’t require any re-wiring! 😀
Most of our lighting was found second hand and repurposed with the exception of our star pendant (Pottery Barn $159) and our cage light in the kitchen (Cost Plus World Market $249). Our clawfoot tub was a Craigslist find too.
It does take a little bit of hunting and imagination, but the collected feel is exactly what we wanted. 😊
Visiting my friend at her new studio with 4 chickens...and 2 peacock hens and one spectacular boi,boi peacock who was more than happy to show off his spectacular tail... His courtship dance with the quivering, rustling of his fan just made my heart sing
I am going to try and post a daily a picture of my community be it a picture I have taken or from another Santa Fe IG account... .
The goal to share the beauty around me and to try and inspire others to do the same... .
When we close our hearts,minds and our eyes to all the beauty that is around us all we see is BS..and that sometimes is just too overwhelming... Step back ... away from the madness (don't ignore)...but don't let it consume you. . .
Thank you for Sharing your great image with the Divine Deserts community! .
