Here’s a note to everyone who’s looking at that picture and is making up thoughts like “I wish my life would be like hers” or “Why is she so lucky being able to do that and I’m not?”.
First of all: STOP COMPARING!
Your life is never going to be like someone else’s. Focus on your own goals and progress.
And second: you’re responsible for your own destiny! ❁
I remember a year ago looking at photos of girls having lives I always wanted to have. It was a dream of mine to spend months by the ocean and to do every single day exactly what I wanna do. Not being forced to go to work, that doesn’t make me happy, or to wait for the days where the rain finally stops and I see some sunshine for an hour only. ☼
But the difference is, that I never felt jealousy or didn’t judge them for what they achieved. It was more of the opposite, I was happy for them and saw their achievements as motivation and inspiration. I built up a list of things I wanted to achieve and worked towards those goals. ✭
I created the life I’m living right now, because I know that I’m the one who’s writing their own story. I wanna be able to read my own story and say “what an amazing and interesting life that girl lived”.➰
Adventures aren’t created in the office, where you count every minute until you get home and think on the way already how shitty tomorrow probably is going to be, because you feel trapped in your everyday life.
I’m not saying that office jobs suck, if you love what you do, please continue. But don’t complain about your life and then don’t change anything. It’ll never lead you to happiness.
