I started making art again less than a year and a half ago, after over a decade of not really making any. I received a message from an artist who I really admire @karenmandersen - it actually changed my life... within it she said three things that stuck with me “1) FIND YOUR TRUE PASSION AND DO IT 2) FIND THE TIME 3) LET GO OF PERFECTION” - I took those words and they became my mantras. I decided to give abstract art a shot even though my background is surface pattern and my prior artworks were realistic. At first I found daunting but I found confidence really comes from repeatedly doing something over and over. I didn’t know how to use alcohol inks, I had no idea what fluid mediums were. I’d never even heard of resin. I wasn’t sure I could “pull off” being an abstract artist. But slowly, painting by painting, I gained trust in my abilities once again and I found a new enjoyment for life that had been missing for a very long time. I painted at night, at my kitchen table. I made art for the sake of nothing more than seeing colours spread and having paint on my hands once again. I truly owe a lot to @karenmandersen and her encouragement. So I wanted to pass her words on to you - they can apply to anything. Find your passion. Then do it. No excuses. The world is waiting for you ✨✨✨ #rainbowrevolution

The Pacific was splendid this past weekend, hugging the coast as we wound our way down HWY1. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful, beautiful place!
