I noticed recently other Instagram communities have been doing Appreciation posts.
I thought I would get the ball rolling in our Arts community.
.
I would like to make this post about all the wonderful Artists that have helped facilitate my Art Practice.
.
My Story:
At highschool I had the unfortunate misfortune to have an Art Teacher that taught us knitting and textiles.(not bagging textiles btw).
So I never got the basic grounding I needed in drawing and tonal values, let alone painting.
I was lucky to be introduced to the @ruthtuckartschool where I was a student and went on to teach for over 17 years.
Ruth Tuck taught me about colour and all the names of flowers and Matisse and Van Gogh to name a few.
I loved learning from her teachers including @janet_bridgland @ayliffejanet and Christine McCarthy @janedisher etc.
There were so many others.
It was where I cut my Art teeth! 😁
.
In recent times in my Quest in trying to fathom Tonal Realism I was taught by Anna Platten, @darylaustin6@jimthalassoudis@yasmingrass@louisefeneley@deidrepainter@robineleyartist@davidkassan@slevenson .
.
I will leave the list there. I am sure I have missed plenty of names.
.
But I THANK everyone that has helped me to SEE.
and
am Forever grateful.
