  • Who loves a Smokey eye? I did this tutorial in my IG stories today. It’s also saved to my highlight reel. The main thing when doing a Smokey-eye is to NOT give up!!! There is definitely a point that you’re going to feel like it doesn’t look good. Keep going!!!! You can’t tell until you have the whole look completed! Trust me!!!! I don’t know about you but it seems like the older I get the more I forget things. I’m not sure if it’s an age-related thing or simply that I have way too much on my plate. I’ve gotten better by doing a few things: I write things down in a beautiful, inspiring notebook that I have easily accessible, I stay away from multitasking and aim to memorize something new every day which keeps my mind in top shape. It could be a quote, a verse to a song, a new word, street names, the name of the cashier at your local store. Whatever suits you. Try it!

I wanted my clients to know that I cared about them, that they were heard, and that I wanted to give them photos full of joy, the beauty that I saw in them and their stories, candid moments and photos that reminded them of what matters most in their lives. ⠀

Selfies weren’t a thing in the early years, but now I try my best to remember to get a selfie with all of my clients. Through my studio they become a part of my life and these selfies remind me of how grateful I am to get to do something that I love.⠀

  • There are days when you feel pretty good. There are days when you don't. I guess that's obvious. Lol. The good days are easy. The bad ones not so much. Today is so cold and sleety and to be honest I want to be back in the warm Florida sunshine. I miss the sun on my skin. So I think I'll wear something bright and colorful and do extra makeup to help. 
I hope all of you have a sunshine on your skin kind of day. xoxo

  • It wasn't that long ago that I was at my strongest. I felt I had reached my peak. 
And just as quickly, I'm starting over. From scratch. It's humbling to be doing a program that you could once breeze through, do modifying many moves so you can actually complete it. But that's the key isn't it? Finish what you start?

Before surgery, I would half-ass my workout or even fast forward a move bc I was too pissed that I couldn't actually complete it! So I was left with barely breakinf a sweat, frustrated and ashamed. 
Today, I made it through the whole workout. I modified and worked through what I thought I couldn't do at all. Now, it's about remaining strong and remembering that it's not about what I can do, it's about conquering what I thought I couldn't do. That to me is one of the most important steps in making real, lasting changes for a happier, healthier person.

  • I grew up being told self love was selfish. It was selfish to be kind to myself. I don’t deserve it.  Then a friend took me to hear Shaun T speak. I got his book. The same friend sent me quietly a Rachel Hollis book. 💜💜 Truth: be as kind to self as I am to others. Maybe I’ll even do a Shaun T exercise of hugging myself! (Yes he had us hug ourselves in a room full of strangers). Be kind to yourself today. You deserve it.

18 months ago I tore my ACL and haven’t ran more than 100 metres since, but I still have that ultimate goal(amongst many)on my mind.... completing a 💯 mile event. 😳
Last night I signed up for my third half marathon ever, the last one being 2012, which is 3 weeks before the local marathon where I will be pushing Alex in his wheelchair for the entire 26.2 miles.

Tomorrow I start my training plan which will consist of three runs a week combined with my current home workouts.
