  • For once, I was surprised how quiet 🤫 this place was😍! It was a Sunday morning, around 9am, and I was the only living soul there 🤩! So the photoshoot was extremely efficient 🔥! I was done in less than 10 minutes! 💃🏻✨

How was your weekend everyone? I personally did (almost) nothing 😴. Which was refreshing 🥰! I needed some time off and also to start planning my next trips ✈️! As the weather is grey and sad in Paris ☁️🥶, I’m thinking about a sunny 🌞 place for my first holidays of 2019🏝! I can’t wait to tell you more about it! 🌴👙

The Panthéon is a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris. It was originally built as a church ⛪️ dedicated to St. Genevieve but, after many changes, now functions as a secular mausoleum containing the remains of distinguished French citizens 🇫🇷. It is an early example of neo-classicism, with a façade modelled on the Pantheon in Rome 🏛and surmounted by a dome that reaches a height of 83 meters (272 feet). It also features three superimposed shells, similar to the St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The church was completed in 1790 and was the highest point of Paris before the construction of the Eiffel Tower🗼in 1889! And funny thing to know: the work of the Pantheon was financed by an increase on national lottery tickets 🎫! 💖

  • The Pantheon! Almost too impressive for words but...
.
History Nugget:
First built in 27BC by Agrippa (the inscription reads: “Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, three-time consul, made this)
.
To this day, it has the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world!
.
The structure standing today was finished in 125 AD under emperor Hadrian, where he would sometimes convene the Roman Senate
.
Both kings of Italy are resting here along with late renaissance artist, Raphael

  • - Rome, aereal view of the Pantheon.
It is an ancient Roman building originally built as a temple dedicated to all gods, while from the beginning of the seventh century the Pantheon is a Catholic church, called Santa Maria ad Martyres.
The first Pantheon was built in 27-25 BC by Agrippa, friend and son-in-law of Augusto, in the context of the monumentalization of the Campus Martius, entrusting its realization to Lucius Cocceio Aucto. The building, destroyed by fire in the 80, was restored under Domitian, but underwent a second destruction under Trajan. Under Hadrian the building was completely rebuilt. The brick stamps belong to the years 123-125 and it can be assumed that the temple was inaugurated by the emperor during his stay in the capital between 125 and 128.

  • Throwback Thursday.
Visiting The Pantheon in Rome on the 17th November 2017.

It is one of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, in large part because it has been in continuous use throughout its history.

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple in Rome, Italy. It was a temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus (27 BC – 14 AD). Completed by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated about 126 AD.

Thank you Emanuele Argentino Sensei and Roberto Todoni for memories :) #Brunei #Rome #Pantheon #BruneianTraveller #BruneianAbroad #EuroTrip #BruneiDaily #Brunei_Daily #Quik #QuikStories
