Finally a diagnose for my knee injury which kept me from training the last few weeks. Patellofemoral irritation (if that’s the proper English translation), which leads to moderate complaints especially while holding my leg too long in a bended position. This might take some time, but the good news: I can run with it! No fast tempo’s yet, but still a big relieve. It’s a strange phenomenon, that is rarely filmed. But yesterday I witnessed this group of marathonrunners in their post marathon period. Within this period, that lasts no more than 7 hours, the marathonrunner drinks as much alcohol as he can to compensate the lack of alcohol in the previous three months. Isn’t it beautiful, nature? I feel lucky that I was able to witness this kind of behaviour that’s not seen often. This morning discovered I did actually end up on a podium (which I missed, @mistermarathon style😜)! 3rd place at NK marathon in the M40 masters category. Did try to find this out directly after the race but couldn’t find the ceremony 🙈 (was send the wrong way). Really proud of this achievement! And to run together with my fellow athletes from Niek’s training group. All running sub3 with fastest time at 2:33. Good company brings up the best in you! Thanks @mistermarathon, @wouterrunning and the father of @jurrevanrooden for the pictures 🙂
