Amanita muscaria, the "Fly Agaric".
.
.
From Wikipedia:
"An account of the journeys of Philip von Strahlenberg to Siberia and his descriptions of the use of the mukhomor there was published in English in 1736. The drinking of urine of those who had consumed the mushroom was commented on by Anglo-Irish writer Oliver Goldsmith in his widely read 1762 novel, Citizen of the World. The mushroom had been identified as the fly agaric by this time. Other authors recorded the distortions of the size of perceived objects while intoxicated by the fungus, including naturalist Mordecai Cubitt Cooke in his books 'The Seven Sisters of Sleep' and 'A Plain and Easy Account of British Fungi'. This observation is thought to have formed the basis of the effects of eating the mushroom in the 1865 popular story 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'".

  • Hydnellum peckii, the "Bleeding Tooth Fungus".
.
.
From Wikipedia:
"Although the fruit bodies of H. peckii have been described as resembling 'Danish pastry topped with strawberry jam', and Hydnellum species in general are not known to be poisonous, they are inedible due to their extremely bitter taste.
.
The fruit bodies typically have a funnel-shaped cap with a white edge, although the shape can be highly variable. Young, moist fruit bodies can 'bleed' bright red guttation droplets that contains a pigment known to have anticoagulant properties similar to heparin."

The almighty Turkey Tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor).
.
.
From Wikipedia:
"When used in combination with certain chemotherapy regimens, Polysaccharide-K (a protein-bound polysaccharide isolated from the fruitbody of Trametes versicolor) may benefit patients following surgical removal of stomach and colorectal cancers, but clinical trials in patients with breast cancer, leukemias, and liver cancer remain inconclusive as of 2016.
.
PSK is possibly useful as an adjuvant in the treatment of gastric, esophageal, colorectal, breast and lung cancers. PSK adjuvants are under study for their potential to affect cancer recurrence."

🇫🇮Mustakorva 🇪🇪Karvane kõrvtarrik 🇬🇧Tripe fungus

📍 September 2018, Saka, Estonia 🇪🇪

🇬🇧 This saprobic jelly fungus grows particularly on dead and decaying branches of elm trees (Ulmus spp.), favouring damp and shady sites. It is bracket-like in appearance, often merging into compound growths running along fallen trunks and branches. The upper surface is downy or hairy and concentrically zoned. The underside is initially smooth, becoming wrinkled with age. The fungus is considered inedible because it is tasteless, tough and rubbery.
——
