  • The “YoU LeWk So MuCh BeTtER wItH TrAdItIoNaL hIjAb On” comments are compliments dripping with condescending undertones. As the same with the: “Have you ever considered removing your hijab? Your beauty would really show without it.” I used to wear this style of hijab all the time. I also used to think that I could never be truly beautiful if I wore hijab, unable to show my hair. All the beautiful images I was shown were with women with long hair, laid edges.
Girls who have very short hair, nappy/course hair, hair loss/thinning/balding, or choose to cover their hair (for whatever reason) are left wondering about their level of beauty because we are so attached to the idea that our beauty, our femininity lies within our tresses.
Through a friend, I discovered turbans. And, learned the various ways of wrapping them. My hijab styles evolved. I felt that I could be creative with my hijab, just like real hair. I could finally express myself. With that evolution, I was told by many Muslim women and men that my turbans were not proper hijab. That I needed to stop.
I started wearing hijab at 6 years old, and what I’ve chosen—and not chosen to wear on my head has continued to be debated.
But, I no longer entertain debates that I’m not getting paid for 💁🏽‍♀️ My body. My head. My hair. My choice. Period.
What’s your relationship with your hijab? Do you feel pressured to wear it or pressure to remove it? For the non-hijab wearers, what’s your take on body autonomy? What’s the hijab signify to you? Let’s chat. 📷 @awake.dreaming

So, if you comment saying im promoting obesity, you're getting blocked immediately! Thnx for coming to my Ted Talk🚫 .
body love is so important to survive in life . You have to have a positive mind in order to be healthy in general. I can be healthy as hell and still lack self love or confidence and feel like absolute shit . Im not a size 0, no where close obviously. I'm a size 3X and im proud of myself for loving myself despite all of the hate i get on the daily because of my weight . Before you comment asking "iS sHe HeAltHy?!?!" , dont. I'm healthy other than the fact I'm over weight , but over weight doesnt = disgusting, sick, ugly, or any other word that's negative. Leave your negative opinions aside and give someone a compliment, someone who comments on this post deserves a compliment, hell. Everyone deserves one . You're all so precious and amazing, our DMs are always open, feel free to message, if you wanna speak to me, just ask the admins to get ahold of me unless i see it first (: I love you all❤

  • I like to think that I wear 27 well.

There was a time in my life I didn't think I'd make it to this age. I'm just grateful to still be here and try to live my best life possible.

Another year older. 🎂

  • i’m ‘growing my bangs out’ or whatever 💋

FYI! i am offering sliding scale live sessions until march (as low as $15!)- check out my highlights for more info! i would love to work with you, love! let’s do it already! feel free to book through march as my books are open already!
i plan on offering this scale every so often as i want to be as inclusive and accessible as possible while also being able to live as a marginalized babe, too! i simply ask that if you have the means to pay my full price then please do not take up the space that i have created for others that actually can’t currently financially afford it & need my healing services.
additionally, some of my offering pricing will be changing come spring as it’s about that time - get in soon to beat the switch ;)
