Do You Love Naan? 🌱
So easy to make and you can choose alternative flour than almond. Buckwheat, spelt, chickpea, hemp flour are all great as well 💙

☝️Save & share to let em' know where you get your protein💪🌱 TOP 20 VEGAN PROTEIN SOURCES per 100g!
👍There is a protein source for all occasions and personally for me, dependent on my goals and total caloric intake for the day I will play around with many of these. For example...
🙌When I am consuming more fat on a day-to-day basis I might rely more on nuts and seeds. If I'm consuming more carbs I'll rely more heavily on legumes and whole grains. And for pretty much any occasion, I will rely on high protein, lower carb + fat sources like tofu, tempeh, seitan (most faux meats) and protein powder.
☝️While we are highlighting these top 20, I just want to take a moment and mention that all plants have protein. Every single one. Yep that broccoli or those strawberries you eat, they have protein. Yes in lesser amounts but don't you kid yourself, it's there...
👉Hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to follow @thatalexciccone for more vegan living!🌱

Slow down aging process: thanks to its high antioxidant count, #blueberry juice can help fight off free radical damage that speeds up the aging process. In one study, participants consumed blueberry juice combined with apple juice for four weeks. The researchers found that oxidative DNA damage was reduced by 20 % .
Lower blood pressure: studies have found that blueberry consumption is associated with a reduction in blood pressure. After eight weeks of consuming 50g of blueberries a day, high-risk heart disease patients experienced 4 to 6 % decrease in blood pressure.
Prevent heart disease: because blueberries can aid in hypertension, they can also help reduce the risk of heart disease. Blueberries are known to reduce the risk factors related to heart disease, but more research is required to determine if they can reduce the risk of #heartattack or stroke.
Boost brain health: free radicals and oxidative stress can damage the brain but the antioxidants in blueberries can help combat this, thus contributing to improved brain health. A six-year study consisting of 16,010 elderly found that consuming blueberries and strawberries delayed cognitive impairment by 2.5 years.
Manage #diabetes : blueberries are fairly low in sugar, which makes them a healthy snack for diabetics that won’t increase the blood #sugar levels. Blueberry properties have also been shown to benefit #insulin control and sensitivity.
Treat urinary tract infections: blueberries and cranberries are closely related and share the same active ingredients that help treat a urinary tract infection. Just remember to drink a natural blueberry juice and not the cocktail variety.
Relieve muscle damage: after an intense workout, muscles may get tired and sore. Blueberries can help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress on the muscles, thus speeding up muscle repair.
Support eye health: the antioxidants in blueberries can aid in eye health by preventing free radical damage to the eyes and the ensuing vision problems. Blueberries also aid in blood pressure, which is a contributing factor to poor vision as well.

Crunchy kale chips on top my kale salad 😆👊💃🌿 I've started adding Dijon mustard to my tofu marinade and it's been delicious!! I use Bragg's liquid aminos, rice vinegar, garlic powder, nutritional yeast and dijon mustard. Sometimes vegan Worcestershire sauce too. 😋
George has been begging to make baked eggplant with me for over a week. I enjoy my kitchen buddy. He's one happy kid right now, even if refuses to stop eating for a quick picture. He loves his pasta and eggplant. 🍆
Do I have bad days? Do I overindulge on fats from time to time even though I know that it doesn’t make my body feel great? Do I have times where I feel burnt out and tired from having so many things to consider and think about every single day? Do I hate cleaning and washing dishes often? Heck yeah! I’m only human. I have had more than my fair share of struggles in this lifetime and especially during this healing journey. Healing isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, please know that.
There are days where I feel low or fatigued or even mentally mixed up. But why do I have these days still if I’ve already healed so much? Because I’m still healing! We are continuously healing and needing to rid our body of toxins, viruses, and environmental triggers that we come into contact with on a daily basis. This isn’t a “I’m living this lifestyle until I’m healed then I’ll go back to doing whatever I want” type of situation for me. I’m in it for the long haul. As should we all be. And I know there will be days where I struggle. Healing from everything I’ve encountered takes TIME. It will be a long journey for me. That’s why I always tell you guys to not compare because my journey or healing timeline won’t look like yours.
It’s OKAY to have crappy days. We all have them. Just be consistent- can’t stress that enough. Don’t eat foods that are harmful to the body. Have patience and compassion for yourself. Treat yourself how you would treat your best friend. Be kind, be gentle, be loving, and give yourself grace. You’re in it for the long haul- there will be errors and imperfection and sometimes not everything will get completed off the checklist. Just don’t give up because that will only take you that much further away from your goal of getting your body and life back. ❤️

A quick look thru my feed and you can tell that breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. 😉 So I thought why not share another delicious breakfast bowl to drool over. 😂😋 ONOs topped with fresh fruit, seeds and drizzled in my homemade roasted almond butter (seriously that stuff is 'hide in a corner and eat it by the spoonful' good!) 😋😋😋😋🍃🥜🥣🍌🍇
I have been slack lately in sharing recipes etc so I will aim to fix that so here is my ONO recipes to kick things off. This is what I do and it makes 3 serves (Ella & I share a serve). 1. Blitz together 2 bananas and a can of cannellini beans (rinsed and drained) until a good mash puree mix achieved.
2. In each jar add 1/2 cup oats, 1 tsp chia seeds and 1/3 of the banana bean mixture.
