Paraceratherium. aka, Great Grandpa rhino. 🦏
I’ve always had a thing for prehistoric mammals, and always thought these dudes were super cool.
An extinct genus of hornless rhinoceros, these guys were one of the largest terrestrial mammals to ever exist. Almost 16ft tall at the shoulder, with an estimated weight around 15-20 tonnes. It’s skull alone is around 4.3ft long! It browsed on plants and was thought to have a prehensile upper lip or possibly some sort of short trunk.
Huge and epic and super cute!
