  • There is always going to be a reason why the time is not right.... But, you just have to suck it up and get started.

Last night I stood in the cold and dark waiting to take my running group out.

We are 2 weeks into a 10 week 0k to 5k challenge.

5 ladies turned up last night, most of them admitting that it was tough getting out the door to come.

But they did and at the end of the hour they all felt better and dead proud of themselves. 
If they’d stayed at home in the warm chances are they would be feeling guilty for not doing it and telling themselves ‘I’ll start tomorrow’. Remember - today is yesterday’s tomorrow!!!! Stop putting it off and get started. 🏃‍♀️😜 #exercise #fitness #healthiswealth #personaltrainer #running #doitnow #procrastination #getstarted #fitnesscoach

  • || Embrace - Ordinary things || I had an amazing conversation with a client of mine who was a worrier. She constantly worried about everything. Of course this was now becoming a problem not only in her personal and professional life but her health as well. 
Most of us don't seem to get this but one of the reasons we don't seem to feel productive is because we're stressed and this leads to impulsivity which has a big impact in our lives. 
So, with this client of mine, I started talking to her about slowing down. And one of the best methods that even I've adapted to is to embrace ordinary things around you, in the world etc., It's a lot like gratitude but a little different in practice. She tried this practice for about a week and experienced a shift in her perspective. Of course, each method differs from person to person when it comes to productivity but, just for today.. I welcome you to slow down by embracing ordinary things. 
Ordinary can differ from person to person so don't worry about defining ordinary and instead just try to practice it. .

  • These two really don’t want me to do dishes and I agree!! Do you ever have those days where the mundane tasks just seem to suck the life out of you. You know there are so many other things you could be doing with your time and yet you get to waste your time DOING THE DISHES!! In my case I’m not even washing them by hand, I’m just putting them in the dishwasher, but I still procrastinate.

If you’re anything like me, when I’m procrastinating I don’t instead move on to something else productive instead I’ll get on social media or start watching a bad TV show. So not only am I not getting that little chore done that would have take 5 mintues, but now I’ve doubly wasted the time doing something else unproductive!

Next time you find yourself needing to do something you are avoiding, follow these steps…

1) Ask yourself “does this support the life I am trying to create?” In the case of the dishes, the answer is yes. I take pride in my home and I enjoy cooking so the dishes come with the territory.
2) Is this something I can delegate? I am secretly the master of delegating the dishes…not all the time, but having a loving supportive husband he is there to assist when I really need him.
3) Take Action! Even if it is a small step towards what needs to be done, taking the first step will get the momentum going and, in the case if the dishes, they’ll be done before you know it!! #procrastination #getitdone #balance #dontgetstuck #focus #successfulwomen #successcoach
