Couldn’t resist doing another orchestral track. 😭
It doesn’t matter what instrument you use to express your music. They’re all just tools to transfer a musical soul to the outside world. Go wherever your inspiration takes you.

Here’s the next one of my 2019 challenge of trying out new things.
Let’s call this folk-trap-pop.
My journey of becoming a producer started exactly 10 years ago. I got my first pro tools recording rig for Christmas and I recorded my first record with my band at that time. It has been the first songs I wrote together with my band mates. We all didn’t know too much about music theory or any of this stuff but we had that fire and the tracks came out pretty fresh. In the following years I got obsessed with learning new things and my ultimate goal was to become a better musician and producer. I started to study music at university hoping this would be my key. I was putting much hope in learning all music theory, ear training, composition classes etc. But after all studies I found that my music was not as good as it was before. And I didn’t really feel anymore when I listened to songs. My emotions in music were gone. At concerts I enjoyed the snare drum being tight and laid back and all this nerdy stuff. It’s complete BS. Music is about emotion not about technical stuff. It took me a few years to „forget“ all that stuff that I learned and to find a new naive way of making music again. Probably it was not really forgetting but all that stuff that I learned just needed time to settle down in my musical soul. Anyway the computer keyboard became my savior as I was staring to play by ear again. I’m not saying at all that music theory is the devil but it’s a tool. I use it if I run against a wall in production or writing, theory helps me to solve problems. But when I create, I turn off my mind and just let it flow.
Don’t overthink music, always be like the child that you were when you had your first jam sessions. Hold on to that, don’t lose it! - Typewriter
#norbertofranca#nfstudio#norbmusic#producerslife#tecladista#musicstudios#samples#roland
