  • Any job can be boring the more we do it. Any task can become monotonous the more we do it. The key to enjoying work is to link your tasks to PURPOSE. What difference do you make by doing your job in a world class way? What would be the impact if you didn’t do your job? What does doing your job give you? .
When we have a purpose linked to our tasks it’s easier to become passionate about what you do.

  • Imagine you had a bank account that deposited $86,400 each morning. The account carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every dollar each day!

We all have such a bank. Its name is Time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever time you have failed to use wisely. It carries over no balance from day to day. It allows no overdraft so you can’t borrow against yourself or use more time than you have. Each day, the account starts fresh. Each night, it destroys an unused time. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, it’s your loss and you can’t appeal to get it back.

There is never any borrowing time. You can’t take a loan out on your time or against someone else’s. The time you have is the time you have and that is that. Time management is yours to decide how you spend the time, just as with money you decide how you spend the money. It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do them and where they fall in our priorities.💕 #time #life #psychology #choice #happiness #quote

  • The irony of posting this on a social media platform is not lost on us, but the message is great. Don’t believe everything you see on social media. Think critically, analyze and make up your own thoughts. And #TrustYourInstinct 📸 cred @work.life.mama

  • #MythsaboutSuicide
#ThomasEJoiner
#HarvardUniversityPress, Apr 15, 2010 - #Psychology - 288 pages
Around the world, more than a million people die by #suicide each year. Yet many of us know very little about a tragedy that may strike our own loved ones—and much of what we think we know is wrong. This clear and powerful book dismantles myth after myth to bring compassionate and accurate understanding of a massive international killer.
Drawing on a fascinating array of clinical cases, media reports, literary works, and scientific studies, #ThomasJoiner demolishes both moralistic and psychotherapeutic clichés. He shows that suicide is not easy, cowardly, vengeful, or selfish. It is not a manifestation of "suppressed rage" or a side effect of medication. Threats of suicide, far from being idle, are often followed by serious attempts. People who are prevented once from killing themselves will not necessarily try again.
The risk for suicide, Joiner argues, is partly #genetic and is influenced by often agonizing #mentaldisorders. #Vulnerabilitytosuicide may be anticipated and treated. Most important, suicide can be prevented.
An eminent expert whose own father's death by suicide changed his life, Joiner is relentless in his pursuit of #thetruthaboutsuicide and deeply sympathetic to such tragic waste of life and the pain it causes those left behind.
