“Whatever happens to us in each moment will arise some sort of reaction within us, and whatever that reaction may be, it can teach us about ourselves. If there is someone who irritates us, this person is triggering something within us to be irritated—they are bringing something within us to the surface that we can reflect on and learn from.

These habitual reactions are often called “triggers” and the best way to become aware of our conditioning is by realizing what our triggers are. If someone angers us, it is because we already have anger within us, and that person is only triggering this anger, and causing it to rise to the surface. If someone annoys us, it is often because we are seeing something in them that reminds us of something we do not like in ourselves. If someone makes us feel sad or inadequate, it is because we already carry these feelings within us, and they merely did something to cause these feelings to come to the surface.” #Psychology #Conditioning #Mind #Mindfulness #Awareness #psychologystudent #buddhism #hinduism #christianity #judaism #islam #innerpeace

A Superiority complex is usually a direct result of an underlying inferiority complex. Because the person suffers from feelings of inferiority he compensates by moving in the opposite direction which is acting superior. According to Adler, every human being feels a sense of inferiority at one point or another. And this is actually a good thing, because that feeling of inferiority motivates us to excel and achieve the goals that we set for ourselves. In simpler terms, it is the guiding force or motivation behind our need to excel. But sometimes, people are unable to cope with these new standards that they have set for themselves, and they eventually end up in one of the two extremes: Inferiority Complex, which is a lack of self-esteem, and Superiority Complex, which is an exaggerated feeling of self-importance.

  • After receiving such great feedback on the post last-night about speaking, I decided to create my first ever visual post. As some of you may know, an account named ‘Lobster Ascending’ originally created this amazing form of content but they unfortunately deleted their accounts from social media. I have since had help from @mikeanderson77 & @rhetoricalbits in creating content ever since but decided I can’t rely on others too much, they have busy lives and loved ones to tend to! I am still working with both Mike and Vizi to create content for sure but this means now I can take requests for specific pieces of content.

I have a new-found appreciation, on-top of what I already had before, for content creators who muster up pure originality on their designs. I spent around 6 hours on this design as a whole. Sourcing images, colour co-ordinating each page and editing the language. I hope it has done the original video and Jordan’s advice some justice and that you can find use in it!

Please follow me here at @JordanPetersonArchive for more valuable content!

  • Do you ever feel like you're doing all the right things to get fitter & healthy, yet you just aren't getting results as fast as you thought you would?⠀
----⠀
Yeah, we've all been there. While you should never expect to magically get fit the second you start working out and eating healthier, you always have to always keep in mind that getting fit goes beyond just losing weight...it’s about having a healthy body and mind!⠀
----⠀
Here are six habits that have helped us get fitter both mentally and physically, and will help you too:⠀
🥕Be intuitive with your eating habits: eat when you are hungry, listen to the signals in your body and stop when your belly is full.⠀
😴Get more sleep:get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep per night. Sleep is a HUGE key to fitness success. The lack of it, sabotages gym time, makes you crave more food, and your body ends up storing fat in all the wrong places. ⠀
💪🏼Make exercise a habit: Aim to workout 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes. Include both cardio and weights. Full-body exercises like squats, burpees, push ups and triceps work like a charm.⠀
😰Reduce Stress: take some time every day to stop and smell the roses. Making sure you take time to relax, meditate and do the things you love will help you tremendously.⠀
💕Build healthy relationships: healthy relationships mean a stronger heart and body...literally. Many studies have shown that. Make sure you are surrounded with people that love you and motivate you.⠀
🙅🏻‍♀️Learn to say "no": the ability to say ‘no’ really reflects that you are in the driver’s seat of your own life. Don’t waste time doing things you do not want to do. Take care of yourself first, and make yourself a priority.⠀

👉🏼 Her çeşit hata; büyük, küçük, orta, seni ağlatan, öfkelendiren delirten.. Hayatımızın ritmini değiştirebilecek can sıkıcı ama gerekli hatalardır. Bizi büyüten, dev gibi yapan, hatalardır. Başarılardan çok hatalardan ders çıkartırız.

  • ||FAILURE||
I take failure as one step further to success. Failure doesn't always feel good. It may also lower your confidence.
But I take failure as a motivating force.
I remember when I first failed in my maths test in 7th grade. I was shattered and scared. I didn't know how to tell my dad about it and what should I do. So I just went to my dad and gave him my report card. But my dad just made me sit and told me not to get demotivated.
I know failure is scary but it also teaches you a lesson which we should learn and work towards it.
We shouldn't be sad by the thought of failing in something that we want to do. Instead we should keep trying.
Albert Einstein also said
I didn't fail 10,000 times. Instead I found 10,000 ways in which it should not be done.
Never stop trying something new because of the fear of failing. What if you come out with flying colors.
Failure is always a ladder towards success. So never stop trying and never stop failing. There is always something that you will learn. Never get negative thoughts about yourself. Everyone is capable of doing whatever they want. Just don't give up.

  • - Bannon got it immediately. He believes in the whole Andrew Breitbart doctrine that politics is downstream from culture, so to change politics you need to change culture. And fashion trends are a useful proxy for that. Trump is like a pair of Uggs, or Crocs, basically. So how do you get from people thinking ‘Ugh. Totally ugly’ to the moment when everyone is wearing them? That was the inflection point he was looking for.

Is what Cambridge Analytica does akin to bullying? - I think it’s worse than bullying, Christopher Wylie says. - Because people don’t necessarily know it’s being done to them. At least bullying respects the agency of people because they know. So it’s worse, because if you do not respect the agency of people, anything that you’re doing after that point is not conducive to a democracy. And fundamentally, information warfare is not conducive to democracy.

Millions of people’s personal information was stolen and used to target them in ways they wouldn’t have seen, and couldn’t have known about, by a mercenary outfit, Cambridge Analytica, who, Wylie says, “would work for anyone”. Who would pitch to Russian oil companies. Would they subvert elections abroad on behalf of foreign governments?

It occurs to me to ask Wylie this one night. - Yes.

Nato or non-Nato? - Either. I mean they’re mercenaries. They’ll work for pretty much anyone who pays.

It’s an incredible revelation. It also encapsulates all of the problems of outsourcing – at a global scale, with added cyberweapons. And in the middle of it all are the public – our intimate family connections, our “likes”, our crumbs of personal data, all sucked into a swirling black hole that’s expanding and growing and is now owned by a politically motivated billionaire.

  • Book review time.
This beauty I got as a farewell gift from my junior. I know a good book changes your thinking your mindset, changes you completely. I BELIEVE. but this is one of the greatest gifts I got. This book is a must read. For those who can't get well with their lives and thoughts simultaneously, this is a privilege. Go for it.

  • Good Food On Friday!
________________________________________
So why is this dish so good for my mental health?
________________________________________
Turmeric is the key ingredient in this one!
________________________________________
Recent studies have found that Turmeric can have anti-depressive properities, anti-anxiety properties, and that is can be anti-inflammatory (check out last week’s good food on Friday post for more on why anti-inflammatory foods can be beneficial for mental health and wellbeing!). ________________________________________
A study entitled ‘Efficacy and Safety of Curcmin in Major Depressive Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial’ was completed to compare the benefits (and safety) of curcumin vs Prozac. The results of this study demonstrated that the participants provided with curcumin almost progressed as well as the group given Prozac!! As curcumin is a component of turmeric, upping your levels of turmeric in your diet could be a good way to start on the war against periods of long term low mood.
________________________________________
Not only this but a study from the UCLA Brain Injury Research Centre found that turmeric can enhance the synthesis of DHA omega-3 which has been found to protect against anxiety.

  • - This was Steve Bannon's baby, said former contractor Christopher Wylie, who described Cambridge Analytica as "Bannon's arsenal of weaponry to wage a culture war on America using military strategies."
.
Bannon wanted to use the sorts of aggressive messaging tactics usually reserved for geopolitical conflicts to move the US electorate further to the right, Wylie said. He had already directed a series of anti-establishment, conservative documentary films and presided over the far-right website Breitbart News, but Cambridge Analytica would mark another step in his overall ambitions to transform the nation.

With financial backing from hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer, Bannon co-founded Cambridge Analytica in 2013 as the US-branch of Strategic Communication Laboratories (SCL) Group, a British company that advertises how it has conducted "behavioral change" programs in more than 60 countries.

Wylie described Cambridge Analytica as - Steve Bannon and Robert Mercer using a foreign, military contractor ... to use some of the same techniques that the military uses ... on the American electorate.

  • With Sun above and Moon below, within this scared space of All, we seed divine on Earth to grow, serpent faith from Cosmic fall. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I let go of mind and the need for control, doors open. I surrender the ravenous craving of knowing via intellect. A twofold action. First, I clear the space, that one enthroned in the illusions of superiority, I know, I know, I am and I know. I understand this. I have control over this. I can face all questions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No. I do not know. I do not know. At least, not in that way. Not in such a way as to be infallible. Not in such a way as to be able to answer all questions. Not in such a way as to be able to prove anything to anyone. Yet, i do know. In a different way, i know. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the clearing of space, an invitation is made for subtle energy to arrive. Subtle only because of the great numbing of sensitivities. But this grows, too, if we allow it. And what begins as a subtle knowing, once accepted, once nurtured, seen and loved, becomes a strong, guiding force of truth. Unshakeable. Unmistakable. And uninterested in the games of illusion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Wylie, who worked for SCL, the British-based parent of Cambridge Analytica, told the Senate Judiciary Committee that Cambridge Analytica hired hackers to collect data it then used against opponents of its political clients.

Allegations of the improper use of data for 87 million Facebook users by Cambridge Analytica, which was hired by Trump's 2016 election campaign, have led to investigations in the United States and Europe.

Bannon worked on Trump's campaign and became a White House aide when Trump took office in January 2017. Bannon left in August 2017.

Wylie, who has provided reports about how the firm used data Facebook collected, on Wednesday described discussions at the company about suppressing the vote, exploiting racial tensions, and testing campaign slogans in 2014 for use in the 2016 election.
.
- One of the things that did provoke me to leave was the beginnings of discussions of voter disengagement, I have seen documents reference and I recall conversations that it was intended to focus on African-American voters, Wylie said. - The company learned that there were segments of the population that responded to messages like 'drain the swamp' or images of border walls or indeed paranoia about the 'deep state' that weren't necessarily reflected in mainstream polling or mainstream political discourse that Steve Bannon was interested in to help build his movement, Wylie said.

Another witness who testified to the judiciary committee, Tufts University associate professor Eitan Hersh, said he was "skeptical" of the effectiveness that such political messaging and targeting. - No person is persuadable all the time, he said.

  • Have you ever been late and a manager say you have bad punctuality, but when they are late, “traffic was crazy” 🙄or maybe you won over a client or done something amazing and someone says ‘it’s because you got lucky’! 🤦🏾‍♀️ This is Attribution Bias, an unconscious bias that can affect the way you manage, promote and hire employees. When it comes to making judgements of our own behaviour, we are more likely to use a self serving bias, which means we attribute positive things that happen to us due to our personal characteristics, and our negative behaviour to situational factors. 💫

When it comes to judging others we make a fundamental attribution error, this means we judge other people’s positive behaviour as a product of situational factors and their negative behaviour due to personal characteristics.💫
