Skull crushers are one of the best tricep exercises but a lot of people get elbow pain when they actually bring the bar to their forehead (head pain too if you go too far down...you can admit it...we’ve all hit our heads on the bar before hence the name skull crushers). A simple tweak that helps relieve some of that elbow pain is bringing the bar slightly behind your head instead. You’ll still hit your triceps but you should notice much less pressure on your elbows and less risk of hitting your head 😂.⠀

🔘1. BENCH PRESS : 3 x 6-8 reps, make the bar touch your chest and keep your shoulders back ✅

🔘 2. INCLINE BENCH PRESS 3 x 8-10 reps, again make the bar touch your chest, and squeeze at the top ✅

🔘 3. DUMBBELL FLYS : 3 x 10-12 reps, have a slight bend in the elbows and squeeze the dumbbells together in the middle ✅

🔘 4. CHEST DIPS 2 x sets to failure, lean slightly forward about 45 degrees and have your knees behind you, go until failure (when you start wobbling) ✅

My favorite way to incorporate any cardio/abs lately has been to just finish off with a little burn out circuit like I did today!! Definitely try it out cause it ‘‘twas a good one 😏

1️⃣DB lateral raise 4x10 SS with DB front raise 4x10 each (not filmed) 
2️⃣Upright row 4x12 SS with cable front raise 4x12 
3️⃣single arm cable press 4x12 each
4️⃣machine lateral raise 4x10-12
5️⃣Smith machine behind the head 4x15 SS with plate over head 4x15
6️⃣CIRCUIT: 15 each arm alternating lateral raises (30 total) - 10 burpees - 30 shoulder taps

———————————————————————Decided to add some handstand holds to the end of my upper body session as a productive way of adding volume.....Usually I would just do another free weight exercise but...There is more to be gained from what you struggle or are unfamiliar with than that which you have mastered or are used to. ————————————————————————
It’s not only fun to ‘mix up’ your training but can be crucial in giving new ways to challenge yourself and ‘level up’ outside of what you do all the time. The end result is still an improvement in physical capabilities which is why were here!

Today was a push session and this consisted of an incline DB bench press to start. Getting up the 26kgs up for 8 reps so I’m feeling a lot stronger. Dropped to the 22s for a drop set to get the blood pumping in the chest. -
Legs tomorrow so hoping to increase my squat numbers. Getting some recovery and good rest tonight will definitely help towards the numbers tomorrow🤪

  • Well would you look at that! I should be doing week 4 athlean ax1 (the challenger week) but I hurt my calf swimming 😭. I decided to play it safe and repeat weeks 2 & 3 until legs better even if only doing push and pull days. I should be pee’d off but I’m ecstatic... #why??... press ups have always been my nemesis but this morning I unexpectedly hit all reps all in perfect form. 8 reps, 1 burpie, 7 reps, 1 burpie etc etc. X 3 rounds 1 min rest between each. 400 Challenger I’m coming for you 💪 #athleanx #athleanxxforwomen #girlswholift #pushday #pushdayworkout #progress #motivation💯
