One of my favourite places to work is in University libraries.
There is something about the stacks of books, buzzing cafe and focused students that inspires me.
Lately I have noticed that students spend 8+ hours a day sitting in the same spot, a row of beverages (hot/cold/energy) in front of them, headphones, textbooks and more piled up.
I do not remember committing this much time to a chair anywhere. I start to get squirmish after 2 hours! That's my max. before I have to move my body and take a mental break.
There seems to be so much pressure these days to perform at unheard of levels.
Mental illness is an epidemic on post-secondary campuses everywhere!
How can we encourage our youth to take care of their emotional selves as much as their mental selves?
When teaching, I find myself taking the students outside if there is daylight. I immediately open the frequently closed blinds from the class before. I encourage time outside to help with memory function. We need more.
After working today for some time on a beautiful campus in a beautiful city, the sun outside the window called out and I listened!
@bbascanada Hypa VI. This one showcases citra and simcoe, citra is one of my all time favorite hops because of the tropical fruity characters it exudes, Simcoe on the other hand is a mixed hop which acts as an aroma as well as a bittering agent. Simcoe on its own doesn't settle well with me, but together citra as the tropical kick and simcoe as its bitter partner in crime adds the perfect amount of punch and angst. Like the Green Hornet and Kato.
This one from Du Bas Canada is nothing short of spectacular, fruity, tropical aromas and a juicy, bitter and balanced taste. Du Bas Canada are seriously killing it in the NEIPA game in quebec, and its awesome to see that although these beers sell out quick, you can still get your hands on some, if your fast enough! Cheers!

"Wine or kisses?", you asked,
And I was stoned with your gaze.
"Gaze or embrace?", you asked,
And I was drowning in your arms.
"You or I?", you asked,
And I was you.
