  • Type YES if you agree.
Smiles can hide so much; fear, pain, sadness, tears. But then again, they reflect one thing_ strength.

  • Forgiveness is hard. So hard that we sometimes choose to stay stuck in the arbitrary land of not forgiving which results in us becoming jaded, bitter, and miserable. Sometimes it’s easy to forgive. Other times it’s hard as heck. It depends on things like who hurt us, what they did, if it is a pattern, and where we are in life. I have a theory that sometimes when we struggle to forgive, it’s not as much as forgiving the offender as it is forgiving ourselves. Even if we struggle to come to terms with it, forgiveness for others essentially boils down to forgiveness for ourselves.
.
I was brainstorming on this the other day and drew up this evolution of forgiveness on my whiteboard. When we forgive others and ourselves, we crack open the floodgates of iman, peace, self-love, tranquility, and street smarts. Forgiveness isn’t about being played. We can forgive and learn to use our experiences to set our boundaries and be cautious next time. Ensuring our heart stays open is what keeps us human, sane, happy, and healthy. When we forgive, we allow ourselves to receive blessings from the Creator of Forgiveness.
.
By the way, if you are reading this and you’re in a dark place and can’t even fathom forgiveness at the moment, it’s okay. Sometimes we aren’t ready to make our next move. Please don’t let this message frustrate you. Do you and perhaps tuck this message away should you want to reconsider it in the future.
.
Do you have any gems about forgiveness to drop in the comments? It’s a topic I’ve been exploring a lot lately and hope to shed more on in my upcoming Emotional Freedom Mastery the Advanced Course. ❤️

"When you do not know where you are going, remember where you come from" African quote

I come from Benin, this beautiful little country in West Africa rich in cultures and religions. A country with many facets ... It seems that living far away (Montreal), I rediscover my native country differently ... This photo was taken in Ouidah in front of the temple of pithons. A place to visit in Benin, if you are not afraid of pythons.
Ouidah, it is also the city of my mother.
