🍊So upon arrival we knew only but so much as to what we could expect. We learned quickly that the taxi network there is a legit network. In the US a few cabbies might know each other. In Morocco they all know each other and also have no clue where they're going. They say yes to take you and then spend more time asking for directions along the way. Hey as long as you get there alive 🤷 Of the cabs we took only 2 of them knew where they were going so it's quite common in Marrakesh. That isn't to say we were expecting better because we certainly weren't,but as two young female travelers being driven only partial way to your destination and then turned over to a "guide" keeps you extra alert ya feel me?
🍊 I was told by multiple sources that there were "guides" who are happy to help you find your way to your riad. That is a lie. Morocco's tourism is predominantly European and the Europeans that come here have buku money. They 👏do 👏not 👏want👏 to 👏help 👏you👏 they👏 want 👏your 👏money👏. And I get that. The hustle is real out there and that's a super easy way to make a quick few bucks. In a poor country that relies on cash for almost every purchase it's kind and pretty much expected for you to tip if someone goes out of their way to help you right? Nope. Our first "guide" demanded 500dh or $50 for walking us like ten minutes to our riad. Why did we oblige? Two well dressed young women in an unfamiliar hood saying no to a tall stocky man didn't seem like the move #pickyourbattles .
Obviously always take in your surroundings hella quickly because you're at a strong disadvantage when you first arrive. Guard aaall the way up mmk?
🍊After banging on the door and finally getting settled into our room we didn't let the first "off" experience deter us from exploring. We had an entire day so we weren't going to spend it inside upset about money. We decided to ask our host to call a cab that would pull up right in front despite the winding streets and venture off to the Medina. #marrakech#Morocco#redcity#riadsorour#checktheexpectationsatthedoor#travelstateofmind #travelcreatives#travelphotography#architecture#issaecr

Today's memory from the past: Old City, Marrakech, Morocco 2014
The biggest hurdle we see for most people's physical success, health and wellbeing is NUTRITION.
With the level of misinformation out there it can be even more confusing and more often than not damaging to the individual. "Professionals" with a degree who chronically under feed top level athletes, promoting damaging balances of certain foods.
"Wellness" coaches who suggest meal replacement shakes and promote dangerously low levels of fuel for extended periods of time.
"Fitness" celebs who make the incorrect claim that the only way is caloric deficit, without paying any attention to the quality of the content of food.
It is our job to guide our members to positive, safe and effective nutritional protocols for what THEY need. There is no one right approach. Everyone is different, every current form of training, every past experience, will all influence what YOU need to for YOUR body.
We are solely focused on using nutrition as the base to build healthy, strong individuals. Our job is to make it clear, simple and easy to do. Eating right should come natural to us, because naturally that's how we got here.
