The second instalment in our series of books devoted to architects and the houses they build will be out on November 28! And it's available NOW for preorders through our online shop (link in bio)! This time around, readers are transported to the fringe of Barcelona and deep into the labyrinth known as La Fábrica—the former cement factory and monumental home of Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill. The book features a short story by @jordilabanda, who takes us back to 1980s Barcelona and an evening spent at the Bofill residence, as well as original photography by @nachoalegre and a series of archival images courtesy of the Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (@bofillarquitectura).

✖️ C A S A ✖️ ‘La Fabrica’ by @bofillarquitectura // There are houses, and then there’s Ricardo Bofill’s house: a brutalist former cement factory of epic proportions on the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain. A grandiose monument to industrial architecture in the Catalonian town of Sant Just Desvern, La Fabrica is a poetic and personal space that redefines the notion of the conventional home // Words @nowness // #RicardoBofill
la fabrica is a 3,100 m2 cement factory located near barcelona, spain, which serves as the unique backdrop to local architect ricardo bofill‘s studio and home. the factory, which was first built in the post world war I era, is an architectural timeline of transformative vernacular having expanded through various styles as new functions called for an expanded program. the complex, providing a beautiful and varied series of spaces spanning from brutalist to surrealist with an industrial flavor, underwent a series of processes that converted the existing structure into a studio, gallery, garden, and home- a re-purposed city within an abandoned factory slowly engulfed by vegetation. #anicorn#oddjects#bofill#ricardobofill#architecture#barcelona#spain

Shapes: Unless you count the air, there is really very little in our world that doesn't have shape. The trick is in learning to find objects with appealing shapes and to capture them in an equally appealing way. Understanding the different types of shape and how to use them in your work is one way you can dramatically improve the quality of your photographs.
