Diy Thursday. Tonight I made my rollers a gold glitter leash, just in case I go out of my parking some day!
94/365 A lot of people have been asking me about the difference between skating in my moxis and skating in my riedells. Honestly, it doesn’t feel too different to me. Sure, the moxis have a heel and that does help with stability jumping and stuff but I think that it’ll always be a bit easier skating with a heel or without a heel depending on how you learned. I learned with a heel, so skating without one at times can kind of make it feel like my weight is more back than I’m used to whereas if you learn without a heel, when you skate in a heeled boot, you might feel like your weight is more forward. I don’t necessarily think one is easier than another, balance-wise to skate in after using both for a bit. It’s totally up to personal preference, and a lot of people do prefer different boots and heel heights for different things, for example, I like using my moxis at the skate park because I do think squatting in them is a but more natural and you need to be able to absorb a lot when you are doing park skating (which I admittedly need to work on😂) but lots of people prefer non-heeled boots for roller derby and once I become accustomed to derby, I’ll definitely do a review of my riedell skates! But I hope this little heel talk helped some people 😂 and I hope you enjoy this video of me playing around in my mismatched skates (also pls ignore my incredibly loose toe stop) #rollerskater#rollergirl#riedellskates#moxirollerskates#rollerskating#moxi#moxiskatedaily#day94
You fly fourteen hours and you’re only half way, but the first thing you think about when you step off the plane is how far to the nearest skatepark. You escape the airport. The Venice Boardwalk is still asleep. Yesterday’s dreamers cart their souvenirs in shopping trolleys. You roll your busted suitcase over the slick concrete and fit right in. The daylight doesn’t seem real yet. Southern nights are following you. You’ve been wearing the same clothes too long. The seagulls are too big. Smells include: weed smoke, cheap coffee, sweat, the remnants of rain. Then, the concrete splits open like the biggest shell washed up on the shore. You’d love to pick it up, hold its concaves to the sun; put it in your pocket, carry it with you a while. But, you know you can’t. That some shores are only supposed to be remembered. So you step into the hollow. Slide down the smooth surface. Avoid the water pooled in the deepest crevasses. You don’t have long. But it’s long enough. You savour every moment, pearlescent, in the early morning light. .
On this rainy morning. This is where my heart is. .
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate that shadow magic of @fxmixer 📷 .
