AWAKENING - I often try to describe the feeling I have when I connect with one of these magnificent beings. But as best I try, I'm lost for words to capture that deep, soulful, and even spiritual connection that these gentle manta rays awaken in me when they grace me with their presence. Whether it be brief seconds, minutes or even hours that they share with me, I always find myself craving more... but at the same time deeply grateful for every moment in their company. 🙏🔥🦋🌈

#didyouknow the sand octopus uses its funnel (or siphon) to shoot jets of water into the sand beneath it, which creates quicksand. It then digs down with its arms and mantle up to 20 centimetres (around 8 inches) into the seabed, where it constructs a little burrow for itself, secreting mucus to reinforce the walls. As a finishing flourish, it pushes two of its arms to the surface to create a sort of "chimney" to breathe through.

Maybe if you’ve never dived at night, then yes the thought of diving in the dark can be a little daunting. But if you’ve experienced the wonders of diving after the sun goes down then you’ll know just how fantastic an experience it is. The underwater world is completely transformed after dark, and night diving is a totally different to diving during the day.
