"I did not want to think so much about her. I wanted to take her as an unexpected, delightful gift, that had come and would go again -- nothing more. I meant not to give room to the thought that it could ever be more. I knew too well that all love has the desire for eternity and that therein lies its eternal torment. Nothing lasts. Nothing."
Author: Erich Maria Remarque from 'Three Comrades' .
A little repost from an older post because I love this sculptor's work so much and think it deserves more attention!
at daybreak in the hush of dawn I disappear, bounded / disassociated from the whole/ these mirrors, our minds/ erasing past damage to create impenetrable shadows/ to replace the loss of emotional timing, against the mists of nowhere/ liberation from the consciousness — I sit down to exist, to be forgotten/ that pattern of decline, leaving the body at will/ increased dissociation, close me in. — a peom about feels // this is my new secret art page
Breakfast with a view! 👌 A few weeks ago while I was back home in NZ, I had the pleasure of visiting L’arté Café & Gallery in Acacia Bay, Taupo. We had an amazing breakfast with corn fritters & french toast, then explored the grounds filled with sculptures and artwork. There’s also a mosaic garden, made to look like a living room with a fireplace & furniture, which was my favourite part. Definitely check it out when you visit Taupo! A few words from the creator of this piece: "The Mother Heart emerges from its former self, and from mothers past. It evolves slowly as the Child Heart forms and grows, then bursts into full bloom when the child comes into being. Over time, this Child blossoms and she too blooms into a Mother as her Child comes into being.
Life creates life.
Now there is Mother Heart, Child-Mother Heart, and Child Heart. All three joined at a point of infinite beauty, infinite connection.
But sometimes life is taken away. Sometimes there is a disease... Ruthless and Cureless"
