I wish someone would have taught me the skill of saying no. I have forever been the queen of not being able to say enough is enough before it’s too much and too late. I’ll be honest-people wear me the hell out. And they wouldn’t if I knew how to draw a line in the sand and say, “NO. you stay there and I’ll stay here, because from here I promise I am able to love you better.” I allow too many people into my safe space of being, then I end up stuck trying to please all of them and I am left weary and teary every. single. time. A cycle that I have allowed be a part of the way I do things for as long as I can remember. I’m an acts of service and a quality time giver. If I’m not doing something for you, while spending a lot of time doing it, I don’t feel like I’m loving you well. You can imagine how that leaves me feeling at the end of each week. It’s not even possible to keep up, yet I’m over here still trying. Insanity. So, with this year, I’m gonna learn how to say “enough”, without the guilt of saying it. That’s hard. I hate not being everything for everyone. I have to remind myself that rest for myself is key to being able to serve others well. So hell, I’ll learn how to say no even if I die trying. Gulp. Who else is working on drawing boundaries and saying “nooooooo!”? #annacaterambles

Sometimes just need to find someone who is willing to just listen and understand rather than try to speak and judge.
This little whale in my coffee at our breakfast spot in Kauai brought a smile to my face and reminded me sometimes it’s the littlest things in life that can bring you joy.
We did our trip to Hawaii completely different to how we usually travel. Besides the boat tour which got canceled due to weather anyway and we weren’t able to reschedule before heading home I didn’t plan a thing. I usually like to maximize my experiences in a place going to as many new and different spots as possible. I spend hours (or in the case of our Italy trip months) researching every option and putting together the perfect itinerary for every day. Just ask my family and they will tell you about the insanely detailed 24-page document I put together for our two week Italy trip.
This trip we walked to the same breakfast spot every morning and repeated the same hike and snorkel spots that we found and loved on our first days. We stayed on the south side of the island this time and besides venturing west to the Waimea Canyon we stuck to the same couple miles from our hotel. I admit it wasn’t easy at first to let go of the need to go all over and see lots of things it was really nice to give ourselves permission to slow down and instead just enjoy a choice few. While I may revert back to my type A planning tendencies for future trips it was a really nice change of pace and exactly what I needed after a busy few months.

Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step -Martin Luther King Jr.
I’m thankful that I found life long friends in this season of life. Michael is one of the most loyal friends you could have. His integrity is through the roof and you can always count on him to be there for you!
✨GIVEAWAY✨(read below) Version 2 of the "L" Wallet. After great input from you guys, I removed the ID window and replaced it with a card pocket and a thumb slot for easier access. Every time I'm asked to show my ID, I have to take it out anyways! Here I'm using Natural Dublin @horweenleather and Vinymo MBT #5 Brown Thread along with these great @ks_blade_punch pricking irons I received recently. I like the idea that the folded cash is protected by the card pocket flaps. As much as I love the standard bifold I've always carried, it's refreshing to see something different and consider how else you could carry your cards and cash. I don't like the "L" Wallet as a name, but maybe you guys have some interesting names? Right now, I'm approaching 4K followers 😱, and once I reach that 4K mark I may just raffle off this wallet to whoever comes up with the best name for this new wallet. ✨
