  • Giving my home office some TLC. Makes me want work remotely permanently 🏡👨🏻‍💻

I’ve been spending the past 2 weeks polishing our platform while fighting a persistant cold *wash your hands kids* and it seems like the theme of browser compatibility keeps coming up. Since I work in legal tech, companies are very risk averse to new technologies and security. The ironic thing is these companies prominently use Internet Explorer; the unmaintained and most insecure browser

Creating polyfills and other considerations to make things work under these browsers isn’t worth the trouble. Even Microsoft abdandon them, they’re switching to a Chromium browser so.....yea our team has decided not to try to be compatible with IE or Edge anymore

Testing just got easier 😎. Let me know how you guys deal with cross browser compatibility

What browser do you mainly use?
How do you test for compatiblity?

  • 019 / 100 - Accessibility revisited. #accessibility #nodiscrimination
---
Got a very intriguing email this afternoon from someone using one of my sites saying that their screen readers were unable to be used on my site.
This got my jumping down the rabithole that is accessibility.
---
Therefore today for the #todds100daysofcode and #100daysofcode challenges it was all about researching and ensuring that my website meets the WCAG 2.0 guidelines for accessibility.
---
WCAG 2.0 is a technical standard developed under the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium, and is basically a check list of how to ensure that a website meets standards of accessibility for its users.
If you haven't heard of this before and are a developer of any kind I definitely recommend checking it out 👍🏻

How accessible do you believe your sites need to be?
