  • BB krem sevenlere;
Sipariş ve bilgi için dm den ulaşabilirsiniz 😍
Teşekkürler @ezgicenar

  • ZINC SPF ROUND UP

Its 40°C in Perth today so it's the perfect time to talk about spf!

I started using physical spf last year when my skin became more sensitive. I decided to use primarily zinc based spf since it has skin soothing and anti inflammatory properties, and fully protects against both UVA and UVB rays, meaning that it has broad spectrum protection! Most sunscreens need a blend of filters to achieve broad spectrum cover.

Zinc based spf is however quite difficult to formulate due to its white, powdery natural state. The more zinc, usually the whiter and more chalky. I look for at least 15% zinc oxide and at least spf 30, and, with all my skincare, I look for silicone and fragrance free formulas too. I've tried a few out, so here is a summary of my thoughts! Swipe for textures!

@drunkelephant Umbra tinte physical daily defense broad spectrum spf 30
Price: $36 USD for 60ml (not avail in aus)
Filter: zinc oxide 20%
Texture: thick, beige tinted cream with mica
Finish: moisturising, glowy, no white cast, slightly too cool toned for my warm skin. Never completely dries down, needed to set it with powder or it tended to transfer/slide around
Silicone/ fragrance?: no
Makeup: this is a nice base for makeup in winter or under matte foundations
Thoughts: this was a great first zinc spf. Its packed with antioxidant rich oils, which in turn made this a bit heavy/greasy for my oily/combo skin. I enjoyed the tint but for days at home I kept getting the tint on my clothing. If you want a moisturising tinted spf to wear out, this is great. Would not repurchase.
•
@devitaskincare Solar protective moisturiser broad spectrum spf 30+
Price: $35 AUD for 75ml
Filter: zinc oxide 19%
Texture: white creamy lotion
Finish: lightweight, matte, no white cast
Silicone/ fragrance: no
Makeup: this unfortunately does not work well under makeup as it balls up when rubbing
Thoughts: this is probably the best zinc spf i’ve tried! Such a shame that it doesn’t play well with makeup, but I rarely wear any so it’s not really an issue for me. Keeps me matte throughout the day. Natural and simple INCI with soothing aloe as the first ingredient. Would repurchase!

  • My next sunscreen purchase was this one from Glossier- their Invisible Shield.
Since Cosrx’s sunscreen wasn’t as lightweight as the perfect one I was searching for, I decided to try this one because it had a gel texture and was so trendy and popular. Plus, one of my friends is a huge fan of Glossier so naturally I wanted to try it out too!

Y’all. I haven’t tried a lot of sunscreens but this was bad. This sunscreen was deceiving because it comes out like a gel, and when you rub it in, it hydrates your skin quickly and initially feels super lightweight. I’m not sure if it was just mine or if all of them were like this, but after the gel sank in, the sunscreen left a really uncomfortable and suffocating greasy film of oil on my face that wouldn’t sink if no matter how long I patted it into my skin. It was as if only the water-based part of the formula actually sank in and the oil was left to coat my face. I wanted to badly to like it: beautiful and practical packaging with a pump, gel formula, pleasant orange citrus smell, good recommendation of the brand from friends, not to mention the insanely expensive price tag for a small amount of product. In the end, the small amount of product helped—I found that I was forcing myself to use every last drop like a young child choking down some broccoli because I’m a college student and a well raised child and I’m not wasting anything by just throwing it away (okay that was a little much but you know what I mean). Sad to say this is probably my least favorite product I’ve tried to date.

Reef-safe dan non-nano zinc formula dengan SPF 50 dan water-resistant yang mampu melindungi kulit kamu dari sinar UV hingga 80 menit.

  • Reposted from @drshaairanasir - ☝🏼Studies show that people tend to apply less than half the amount of sunscreen 🧴 that they actually need.
🤷🏻‍♀️So how much do we really need?
For an average sized adult - just over 6 full teaspoons is needed to cover the whole body.
It should be roughly like this:
1/2 teaspoon face and neck and ears
1/2 teaspoon to each arm
1 teaspoon to left leg
1 teaspoon to right leg
1 teaspoon to front of body
1 teaspoon to the back of the body .
(This equates to 2mg/cm2) .
👉🏼This is especially important for those with fair (Caucasian) Fitzpatrick 1 and 2 type skin who have a higher risk of burning and are at higher risk of skin cancer. .
👉🏼This still applies for those with darker skin tones during prolonged and intense sun exposure. .
👉🏼Everyone should still wear daily sunscreen in exposed sites for protection again signs of skin-ageing no matter what their skin type. .
👉🏼Apply 15-30 mins before going out to allow it to dry. .
👉🏼Better applied twice to avoid skip areas. .
👉🏼Should be reapplied every 2-3 hours or reapplied after swimming or if you have been sweating heavily. 🖐🏼Areas that are usually missed are the ears, sides and back of the neck, and temples. .
👉🏼Avoid sprays and powders as there is a risk of poor coverage and a risk of inhalation. .
👉🏼Check your sunscreens expiration date.
Most tend to last for about 3 years. .

To understand an SPF - a sun protection factor you first need to know how an SPF is calculated?

Minutes to burn without sunscreen x SPF number = maximum sun exposure time

For example if you burn WITHOUT A SUNSCREEN IN 10 MINUTES, then you apply an SPF 30+ you theoretically can stay in the sun for 30 x 10mins, that's 300 minutes or FIVE HOURS! But here is where it all goes terribly wrong!

A few home truths!

1. When testing for SPF's - testing is conducted by lathering the body in sun cream, in reality sun lovers use HALF the amount used in testing, so their protection is closer to 2-2.5 hours - the main reason why people suffer SUNBURN!

2. Once your burn time for the day is up, you cannot reapply your SPF and start again! Think of it like putting a chicken in the oven, once its cooked and you take it out of the oven its cooked. If you take it out of the oven wait an hour then put it back In the oven it’s still cooked, skin is the same. Once your burn time has expired you are cooked and you need to go inside and stay right out of the sun for the next 24 hours! (More if you are burnt)

3. If you chose to use anything higher than an SPF30+ (the most popular being a 50+ but they go as high as a 70+) you are also opting for a chemical sunscreen, one i refer to as a "chemical shit storm!" And interestingly the added protection is minimal (certainly not another 20x your natural burn time). A better option is a 30+ mineral based SPF that is well applied, reapplied if it is towel dried or frictioned off or exposed to water and simply getting out of the sun when your natural burn time X 30 is up

Important to note
An SPF must be applied minimum 20 minutes before sun exposure.

Babies should not be in the sun full stop. Their natural burn time is fast and chemicals should not be applied to their skin.
Always remember the skin is the largest organ of the body, treat it with respect because at the end of the day ONE WAY OR ANOTHER IT WILL GET THE LAST SAY!
