After being at maintenance last week with my calories, I’ve been feeling AMAZING in the gym again this despite having been in a deficit again since Monday.

Sometimes a step back is what you need in order to take 2 steps forward. 🙏

Burnout is NOT a positive thing or a requirement for achieving your physique goals.

Of course you have to work hard, but do so with a PURPOSE and a PLAN! 💯

Queridos, siempre habrá días difíciles donde el dolor será paralizante, pero nada en la tierra es para siempre. Pudiste haberlo perdido todos estos últimos 20 años, pudieron haberte robado todo, pero aún tienes vida para recuperarlo todo, hoy lo intentaremos de nuevo, porque ha llegado el momento, la hora donde tendrás la victoria TOTAL. Es tiempo de limpiarse y sacudirse el polvo, y aprender que de las malas rachas nacen las buenas etapas. .

  • Got a rep count PR on squats at 225 lbs. today, 21 reps. This was after hitting 3 x 2 at 320 lbs. It's a lot of reps for powerlifting, but since I only squat once per week right now I need to get some volume from somewhere. 
At rep 7 or so it felt heavier than it should've, and doubt tried it's best to get into my head. I just kept grinding, and told myself "fuck how it feels right now, you're getting to 21" (20 was my previous best). Sometimes it just really is mind over matter. I knew I had it in me and trusted my body to get me through it. That's where the consistency of lifting all the time comes into play. I knew I couldn't get to 21 without hitting rep 8 first, then 9, and so on. The trick is to take a deep breath, and attack the set 1 rep at a time. It's not always going to come easy, and if it does, you aren't working hard enough. 
Always set goals for yourself, because they give you some purpose and extra motivation. If I hadn't told myself I was getting 21 reps, no matter what it took, I would've chickened out long before that last rep.

it’s so nice to have a small group of people following me because I feel like I am really able to send a message rather trying to just have people see my content. - ⭐️ today I had a rest day, but even on my rest days I’m still thinking about ways I can improve. I came across this, and it was the most true thing I have came across on the internet. - 🌷 please when your in the gym don’t lift heavy just to lift heavy lift heavy because you have worked your way up to that weight and are doing the exercise with proper form.  If you are not doing exercises with the proper form (in my opinion) why do them at all? When starting to lift heavier it is okay to cheat a little bit, hence why they have exercises called “cheat curls”, but do not lose complete form just to be lifting heavy. This may also lead to injuries. - 😋 I hope this helps some of you. I always lift what I am comfortable with. But if I get too comfortable I will push myself and go up in weight.  This is key is hypertrophy

POST WORKOUT STRETCHING (STATIC): 🧘‍♀️ For post-workout cool-downs you want to do static stretching. Like dynamic stretching, it improves flexibility by moving joints through a specific range of motion. However, unlike dynamic stretching, it does not increase your core temperature. Static stretching suppresses the central nervous system, relaxing the muscle spindles by lengthening them, and has been shown to actually reduce power and force production in several studies.

Each position is held for 10-30 seconds, and repeated 4-6x

WHY STRETCHING YOUR DELTOIDS IS IMPORTANT:
.
Because of its location, the anterior, medial and posterior deltoids are responsible for a large amount of the control needed to move the arm through the high range of motion of the shoulder joint. During exercises like the pushing (bench press) or lateral raise, the deltoids are often in a position of heavy stress that can cause pain and injury to the muscle. Most deltoid pain can be avoided with proper warm-ups and stretching, as well as careful strengthening of the rotator cuffs.
