Let’s get real, far too many of us struggle with loving, or even liking, our bodies, so if doing one small thing like wearing clothes you find more flattering on your shape makes you feel better about yourself then don’t let anyone stop you 🙅🏼‍♀️

  • Just here to remind you that I still have days when I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see. Having “abs” doesn’t make you happy. It doesn’t change those body hang-ups and the reality of living with a body that’s ever changing. What makes me happy is working out to feel GOOD, not because I feel BAD about how I look. Truthfully I’m navigating this world of health & fitness as much as you. It might look like I’ve always got my shit together, get workouts in and drink kale smoothies but most of the time that’s not a reality. We’re all learning, living, growing, developing, and doing our best — that’s what matters 💫

Losing weight is pretty straightforward. Reducing body fat WHILE maintaining muscle mass/strength requires a more structured/strategic approach.

Make sure you’re getting adequate protein and timing your carbs around your workouts.

You work hard for your strength and muscle gains in the gym. You have to work for them with your nutrition choices too. 💪🙏

  • I’ve been very reluctant to post this for obvious reasons. However, I feel that my mission in life is to help people, so hopefully this info will help a few peeps. ⁣

Last spring, I was exhausted. And I’m talking... I needed one, sometimes two naps just to get through the day. I didn’t understand it….I was exercising and eating clean so my fatigue was very perplexing. In fact, it got so bad, I began to worry that I would not be able to instruct classes. Also, I didn’t realize it at the time, but my muscles were slowly shrinking,  My body is a walking billboard for my job; women hire me because of it and I was losing it; I was scared. Really scared. ⁣
⁣
Luckily, I had a client recommend that I get my hormone levels checked. I finally saw a doctor and he found that my estrogen & progesterone were “post-menopausal;” I had absolutely no testosterone or growth hormone and I had issues with my thyroid. So I started taking hormone replacements... and within two weeks my weight ballooned up nearly 20 lbs! All my posts during that time were old pics. Man, I was stressed out! However, I kept working out and eating clean and eventually, I got my body back. ⁣
⁣
So women (& men!), if you start experiencing: fatigue, low sex drive, increased body fat, an inability to sleep, no energy and so forth, get your hormones checked… and women, make sure to ask to have your testosterone checked. If you’re over the age of 35 I highly recommend getting your hormones checked... it changed my life! #transformationtuesday

  • Normally TuesdayMondays are the WORST, but I had a really good day today! Had great meetings about kiddos making a ton of progress and had one of my students from last year stop by to visit, which always makes my heart happy! Now if this headache I’ve been rocking for 3 days could go shave its back now, I’d be much better 🤕.

  • Living a healthy lifestyle shouldn’t have a start and end date.  Catch yourself when you say things like “I’ll get back on track Monday.” We don’t believe in an all or nothing approach, which is why our gym won’t be doing “Nutrition Challenges.” It might be motivating, but we want discipline not motivation.  Nutrition programs work when they create habits and don’t work when they use rigid deprivation to fast track results.  The long term results of quick fixes is metabolic damage when you rebound!!!

  • Clearly had a “WHO AM I, WHAT’S HAPPENING, WHAT’S GOING ON” brain fart during the last transformer 😂 But that’s the beautiful thing about working out! Once you start and dedicate that time to YOURSELF, whatever time of day that may be, every problem goes away by the end. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone into a workout in a negative mood, needing to blow off serious steam, and finished it with new clarity. It’s A+ decompression. ••
And one more thing:
I bought this tank top from Fabletics last year and only wore it a couple of times because I didn’t like the way that it fit on me. Eric will tell you I’m in great shape, but that doesn’t mean I stop looking to progress. This is the first time I’ve worn in and felt AMAZING in it, even when I was dying on the floor 😂
