Brynn had such a great swim meet this weekend! She placed 2nd in her 25 butterfly and she was the youngest swimmer entered. I’m so proud of her and Bo. I’m also so proud of my many swimmers who did great this weekend. Now we gear up@for championship meets in March! Let’s Go! #swim#swimming#ilovemyjob#proudmom

👀 I’m kinda consistent with both butterfly kicks now
Day 43: *LONG RANT* Today I questioned why I’ve chosen to do the #f45challenge , not because of low motivation or self-sabotage, but because my challenge feels so much bigger than an 8 week transformation. My challenge is beyond trying to look better for Spring, Summer or for my wedding in December. I want those things but really, it’s about reclaiming my health and my body after 2 years of it falling to pieces. I’ve suffered from health concerns, injuries and quite honestly a lot of physical & mental pain since Jan 2017. I needed to take proper action and commit and it finally clicked after the 2nd anniversary of my dad’s death. Sometimes being on a journey and watching others who maybe only need 6-8 weeks of hard work to look ‘good’ gets me down and even a bit salty. I won’t have abs in 8 weeks, in fact I’ll probably never have abs or a flat stomach (loose skin and all that), I won’t be able to do pull-ups for a LONG time & I won’t have some ridiculously low body fat percentage or ‘hot’ before and after pictures - 8 weeks just isn’t enough. In some ways competing with other people in a challenge like this is pretty futile as I’m playing a losing hand.
I heard a podcast a few weeks ago that explained why 8-12 week challenges are a false economy & destructive for participants. While I can see their point it undermines how valuable they can be to someone like me. My journey is so daunting & big that I can’t just look at it as one big chunk. The weight goal I’ve set on here isn’t even what I need to have a healthy BMI (I’d need to lose approx 32kg to get to that😩). Having suffered with a binge eating problem since the age of 8, to then losing 8 stone and then having a HUGE grief-induced gain, this is really a challenge for life and God-willing, life is a flipping long time! Challenges give me accountability, structure & support to feel less overwhelmed about how much I have yet to achieve, and still celebrate the wins on the way. So long story short, I’m pissed off that I’m fat and have to chip away at it for longer than other people, but it’s what I have to do. 🤐
@osmari_wear owner Arian has been working with @forakfysique and @fitcoachalexey to eat right and get in shape. Oven-baked fried pickles with egg whites and chickpea crumbs. Mmmmmmm. A nice little snack!!😉
We are all pumped for our coach @troyabbottpt after nailing his first 200kg squat at a body weight of 75kg. With help and encouragement from the crew it was never in doubt.
Troy and a handful of our lifters will be taking to the platform next weekend at the GPC State Powerlifting Championships and we are pumped to see what they can do. 💥If you’re a Powerlifter in the Rockingham area or just looking to get super strong➡️come and join the crew at Smith’s Fitness💥
