  • #MableADay : Julie - I live in the French part of Belgium in Europe. I have two kids, one old cat and a chicken. I am a scientist in the pharmacy industry, which is a quite busy, but an exciting job. I go to punk rock shows as much as I can, mainly alone but being in the pit is my favorite way to evacuate all the stress of the daily work/family life! My all-time favorite bands are The Flatliners, A Wilhelm Scream, Rancid, Millencolin, Mad Caddies. I also love to discover new bands (thanks to music podcasts!) and I’ve recently had a big music crush on Pup (I’ll see them 5 times for my birthday week in April!) , Decent Criminal, Meat Wave, The Lillingtons, The Last Gang and many more. When I have free time, I craft anything I can imagine (Latest achievement: punk rock band earrings because it’s so hard to find), sew, read and cook. Being part of the Mable Syndrome community is amazing. It’s so inspiring and has a really great impact to my life! Thanks all and see you in the European pit.

#MableADay : Kanan Nagel! Ventura, CA. IG: @kanan_peri . Stuff that I like: All things music (going to shows, collecting vinyl, writing about shows, etc.) traveling, spending time with friends and family, buying too much merch, bowling, getting tattooed (not as often as I’d like), watching Netflix/Hulu (current favorite shows: Shameless, Criminal Minds and Bob’s Burgers), thrift shopping, and trying to give back when I can!
Favorite bands: bad cop/bad cop, Against Me!, The Bombpops, The Last Gang, The Interrupters, Alkaline Trio, The Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, NOFX and Descendents .

My favorite musician is Laura Jane Grace, so it’s not a surprise that my favorite new release is “Bought to Rot” (released November of 2018) by LJG and the Devouring Mothers.
I have always been interested in music, ever since I was a kid. It took me a while to find my niche, but I am the happiest, and feel the most at home, when I am listening to punk rock. In 2018, I had been trying to reestablish my identity after a string of failed relationships and bad choices. I met Danielle at a Distillers show, and she asked if I’d like to be involved with Mable Syndrome. I started writing my first review the following week! I was stoked on the idea of a community of punk rock women, kicking ass and proving just how heavily populated the scene is with women!
I love the sense of camaraderie among the women of Mable. With being unsure of myself in the past, I hadn’t really grown to know too many women in the scene. I am so very fortunate to be part of this amazing community. I am fortunate for the friendships that I have created because of Mable, and I thank these women for taking me under their wing. I am looking forward to seeing this rad community grow, the new and exciting experiences, and to see badass women taking over the world!
