Went for something of a “surprise” hike in Petra (only a surprise because what we thought was a quick walk through the mountains - like 20 minutes max - ended up becoming a 4 hour strenuous hike) and came across this view!
We actually set out to see this view before carrying on to the other bits of Petra high up in the mountains so that part was actually planned.
The view is incredible but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t terrifying. Truth is, it’s every bit as unsafe as it looks and I’d go as far as saying I’d advice against doing it.
Every bit of advice I’d seen before heading up here was so positive and encouraging and I wish people were a bit more honest about the reality of getting to this spot because you are quite literally on a cliff edge with nothing to protect you.
Plus, even when it comes down to it, the view from below is far better than the view from up here - in my opinion, anyway. (*Actually, judging from the first photos of Petra - from a few days ago - which would you say was the better view? Like, be as honest as you want, I’m genuinely intrigued to hear what you think.)
#tenerife#hike#firstday#adventure#travel#outdoor#mountains
