  • What does a balanced way of eating look like to you? I was vegan for a few years in my teens, then vegetarian, and then while pregnant with Isabella I started craving fish so I listened to my body and made it part of my diet.
°
Today, I still apply the same principle. I go for complex carbs to fuel me after a workout or a long run. And I don't deprive myself of a treat when I want one, or bread when I need to (which is by the way, often)
°
So while some days lunch can be a hearty avocado toast on multigrain bread topped with a fried egg, tomatoes and halloumi, some others might be a salad with everything I can find in my fridge, a creamy soup on a snowy day, or a bowl of pasta. The point is my friends, to strive for balance and to feed our bodies the foods that make our soul happy 💗 #yestobread

🇯🇵 100 THINGS TO EAT IN JAPAN 🇯🇵
👉🏻 Handmade Soba 👈🏻
----------------------------------------
Akila-sensei is a soba master who’ll teach you how to make handmade soba noodles from scratch. It involves measuring the humidity of the kitchen with a hygrometer and using a mathematical formula to calculate the amount of water the dough needs based on the humidity level, quality of flour and other factors. Difficult to master but worth it. The soba noodles are some of the best I’ve had, if not THE best. No, not the batch I made. The earthy, bouncy soba made by Akila-sensei is on a completely different level. You’ll also learn how to make the soba dipping sauce and soup - both of these are a gateway to many more Japanese recipes. Feel free to DM me for his details. Unfortunately, mentioning my name to him won’t get you a discount or special treatment. In fact, it’s a guaranteed way to get kicked out of his class and blacklisted from every soba restaurant in Japan. Only kidding. Everybody loves me. Except for my podiatrist.

  • HOLY MOLE! I LITERALLY WENT TO OAXACA JUST FOR THIS
.
Oaxaca is a state in Mexico famous for it’s cuisine- with one specialty dish being Mole (in English, pronounced Mo-lay). In the city of La Crucecita in the Huatulco area, I had heard that @ElSaborDeOaxaca was THE place to get some Mole. They had four different kinds, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was beautiful. But, let’s talk about the Mole
.
🤤 What Brian ate: Mole Coloradito, Tlayudas y Res with Mole Negro, Mole Amarillo .
📍Guamuchil 204, H, 70987 La Crucecita, Oaxaca, Mexico
.
✅Review: We went to this restaurant twice, to taste the different kinds of moles. My absolute favorite was the #MoleColoradito, which translates to “a shade of red” or “the naughty mole.” It is a variation on the Mole Rojo and has some #spice to it. This is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The complexity of the flavors was intense. So hard to pick out individual ingredients, but a combination that just had a WOW effect inside your mouth. The #chilis, #chocolate, seeds, spices, and #plantains formed this deep, subtle sweet & spicy dance. It was incredible. The #MoleNegro (black mole) was also solid. Definitely on the sweeter side with more rich chocolate, and maybe some cinnamon and dried fruit to balance out the savoriness of the spices. The #MoleAmarillo (yellow mole) was not sweet at all. It tasted similar to a mild curry and wasn’t as thick as the others.
.
💰Cost: $180mxn (each) or $9usd
.

Recommended menu:

  • Will you believe me if I say I'd choose the soup dumpling from here over the legendary Din Tai Feng? If you don't, then you got to try it for yourself 😉
