  • Have you ever read a book that you thought should be a film? Well that's how I felt about Doorways. From the moment I started reading I was hooked and my family were neglected.

I do not normally read science fiction but have followed this author since reading his first novel One by One which is in the crime fiction genre. Knowing how much I enjoyed his first book I wanted to give a new genre a go.

Knowing how graphic and detailed this author can be I expected to be holding my breath more than once and I was not disappointed. I found myself invested in the characters and needing to read on to make sure they made it through the next scrape.

For me the characters were my favourite part. Franklyn Jones and his protector Argyle are part of the unbelievable but official BTCO. I loved how the author made you consider the characters mental health, his situation sounds absurd and has caused him to live a lonely existence giving up those he loves to keep them safe, they of course do not understand and just feel abandoned.
From reading the authors first novel I can see how the writing style has evolved and grown in confidence, I believe this is because the author has found his niche and is writing what he loves. I do hope the author has future plans for these characters I feel they have so much more life left in them.
I look forward to seeing more from this author whatever genre it happens to be. #bookreview #review #scifi #books #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #kindle #urbanepub #urbanepublications #kindlepaperwhite #robertenright #doorways
