After having had a difficult few weeks with the stress of exams, revision, results and work I have really been reminded that absolutely everything happens for a reason. Even if something seems far from ideal right now, it is definitely a blessing in disguise as everything leads to a greater good and something you will be grateful for in the future. Be it a difficult event which has occurred, a fight, a mistake or anything else which has made you feel low - remember that in the long run this experience will teach you a valuable lesson which you will benefit from. Life has a crazy way of working out eventually - we just have to trust it and give it time! 💚

  • Calcium is one of the essential minerals on a plant-based nutrition. The emphasis of this post is to provide an evidence-based nutritional information about getting enough calcium on a vegan diet.

This is not an attempt to discuss polemic claims about obtaining calcium on a conventional diet: Standard American Diet (SAD) or the Western Pattern Diet (WPT) but rather to provide valuable message and I hope others may find this very useful

I want to address the stereotypical, ideological fact that when calcium sources are being discussed the first thing, I’m assuming, that appears on conversation a lot, is the cow’s milk, cheese, yogurt etc. also known as dairy products.

Calcium is important. But dairy isn’t only, or even best & safest source. Specifically, a balanced vegan diet also provides enough calcium to thrive. Sources include green vegetables, fermented soy products, tahini, fortified plant milk, almonds etc.

While consuming calcium-rich whole plant food sources, the oxalate content, which reduces calcium bioavailability, increases also. This is not a direct implication suggesting that whole-foods, plant-based sources should be restricted from overall health and lifestyle.

Instead, regular exercise and supplementation of vitamin D, if you are not getting enough exposure under the sun may help maximise the function of calcium.

  • BREAKING: New Canada Food Guide urges shift away from meat and dairy and encourages plant-based eating!🌱 This is a triple WIN—for the animals, the health of Canadians, and for the environment.

The newest edition has completely removed the “meat and alternatives” and “dairy and alternatives” categories. Instead, the new Canada Food Guide focuses on healthy eating guidelines, encouraging Canadians to consume more plant-based protein and fats.

Big Meat and Big Dairy attempted to lobby Health Canada to influence the outcome of the guide—but Health Canada rejected their efforts to protect the guide’s integrity. Representatives from these industries even tried to work around this by lobbying MPs and decision makers to help determine the guide’s outcome.

But unlike previous versions of the Canada Food Guide, the newest edition is based in science, and says NO to cruel meat and dairy industry influence.

Vegan Protein- PanCakes 🥞

Amount: 3 portions

Ingredients:
• 150g flour
• 50g protein powder
• 30g sugar
• 2TL baking powder
• some cinemon
• 125ml soymilk
• 125ml sparkling water
▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️
Preparing:
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and add the liquids. Quirl it with a mixer and heat some oil in the pan. Pour some dough in the pan and bake them until the Pancakes get brown on both sides. Repeat until the dough is empty.

"Как пройти" в картинках — в актуальных сториз @falafelbro) Работает с 11 до 22, и помимо основного меню, идентичного меню кафе в Оружейном, там есть шаверма (тот самый ролл с соевым шницелем, который мы помним со времён @lovinghutmsk) и Vegan Bomb (на самом деле пока нет, но скоро появится). Это картофель- или батат-фри + фирменный соевый шницель + хумус + два соуса. Аааа, вы только представьте это 😍 💣💥
