  • Would you like an adventure now, or shall we have tea first? - Alice

Our favorite place to hang out is historic downtown Sanford. We love the vibe, beautiful city and great food and drinks. We recently tried @rosieleeco and fell in love. I love a good tea and this place makes wonderful tea. Inside the decor is like the most adorable tea room I’ve ever seen and they even have a spa in the back! We can’t wait to head back and try some of their spirited tea ☕️

  • Florida springs are not only freshwater oases teeming with plant and wildlife but they’re also a looking glass into the health of our drinking water. But did you know all springs in the state of Florida are impaired and some polluted past the point of salvation? 😅 So what can you do to protect them?
.
.
1. Understand how your life is dependent on clean water. This is the single most important step to springs protection; without an understanding of where your water comes from or how it serves you you’ll never know what hit you when your favorite spring stinks to high heaven, ceases to flow or worse, your drinking water quality is at risk. Knowing is the first step.
.
.
2. Be conscious of the environmental footprint your diet leaves. We’ve all been warned about fertilizing our own lawns and gardens but what about the big gardens tasked with feeding our nation? 🐄🐓🐖🌽🥕🥬
.
.
3. Be mindful of your water use. The average person uses 80-100 gallons of water/day in their home, on a bad day I use 50-60 gallons/day. We can always reduce our use.
.
.
4. Have your septic system inspected regularly. While manufacturers recommend septic tanks be pumped out and inspected every 1 to 5 years (the EPA recommends 1 to 3 years), only about 100,000 septic tanks in Florida are pumped out yearly. With growing population, this neglect is causing nutrient pollution through human waste in many areas.
.
.
5. VOTE GREEN, share your knowledge, and set the bar higher! Your friends and your kiddos will look up to you for it. 💦🐠
.
.
6. If you don’t know, ask! Ask me, ask a scientist, ask your city, ask your utilities company, ask Google (then fact check). Don’t be afraid to look silly. 🙃 You look sillier not caring about our planet! 🌎💙
