I’ve been wanting to post this pic for like, 8 months. This is from a hike we did last summer. It was the only day off I had in a stretch of three weeks. So I was itching to get up in the woods. We hiked several miles into one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever seen called Crystal Lake.
This was the first time Dorian ever swam. It was so goddam hot out I had to jump in. I didn’t expect the water to be as cold as it was so I screamed like a bitch when I came up and he jumped right in and swam over to me.
I can remember this day like it was yesterday. The water was clear. The air was warm. And the birds were going wild with their melodies. It was truly a beautiful day with my beautiful dog. There’s something just a little extra special about PNW summers.
I also got three flat tires between 11am and 7pm and ended up getting stuck miles outside of town without cell phone service right after dark. It was a challenging day in many ways. But I had my dog by my side the entire time. And he didn’t give a shit what was going on. He was just happy to be there breathing clean air.
Happy Saturday everyone! Do something good for yourself today. And give you pet an extra 5 minutes of your time ❤️
Even in the summer when it should be bright sunshine-y days you can still often find yourself socked in by fog and grey clouds. When we started this hike back in August it was crazy how foggy and muggy it was all the way through but as we got to the lake the clouds slowly started parting ways. When we got back to this area the fog had completely cleared and the view was gorgeous, it was crazy to see how much we were missing out on before. I guess it can be a cheesy metaphor for life lol. Even when everything in your life at the moment should be sunshine and clear skies, we will always have bad grey foggy days. It's just important to remember that it is only temporary, this too shall pass, and if you focus on the negatives only you never know what you could be missing underneath it all when it finally fades away.
