Happy Monday! On the way to Trader Joe’s to get groceries so we figured we’d stop at our fav place @frenchmeadowcafe since it’s so close by 😋 I got the avocado toast 🥑 with 2 poached eggs & coconut oolong tea. Now a busy day of meal prep, the gym, and seeing a friend I haven’t seen in awhile tonight. Hope you all have a great day!
Eczema and any other skin condition is so exhausting to live with. It can consume every minute of your life. It doesn't help that if you research eczema there is no known cure in the medical world 🌎I was told I would look like I did for the rest of my life, and the only way I could control it was by using steroid creams and tablets 🤦🏼♀️ I created this account for two reasons:
1️⃣to share hope that you can heal naturally from chronic mystery illness such as eczema 2️⃣ to raise awareness of the dangers of using steroids to control your condition.
I see sooooo many people every day going through steroid induced eczema / steroid withdrawal and it literally breaks my heart 😭people shouldn't have to go through this, if only these drugs came with more warnings and doctors were more aware of the side affects 😔 I completely understand why people take steroids to control their eczema, I did... why wouldn't you want silky smooth skin? I remember taking 6 steroid tablets a day and waking up the next morning with clear glowing skin, unfortunately the benefits are short lived, and my body became addicted to them over the period of 6 months. It craved more steroids, stronger steroids and I got them - quite easily from my doctor, but the eczema kept coming back worse, after endless sleepless nights researching steroids, I stoped taking them.... my body went into complete shock and I ended up looking like this for months if not years 😱
I am no doctor, nutritionist or qualified in anyway, (plz do your own research ) but did spend years of my life trying to cure my condition naturally I must have tried and tested over 100 diets, supplements, creams, pills.... 😂🙈🤦🏼♀️PLANTS are the only way my body healed. And that's through following advice from @medicalmedium I drink lemon water, celery juice, heavy metal detox smoothies, I've increased my intake of raw fruits and vegetables, I changed to a plant based diet, I've decreased my fat intake, I don't eat anything processed. Yes it's time consuming and often I just want to be 'normal' but this lifestyle is normal for me now the way my body responds is soooo amazing and so worth the time spent juicing and preparing! 😂

let’s talk about CBD ☼
if you know me, you know I’m all about trying to use a holistic approach before using over-the-counter medication. I use all natural products over ones full of toxins, simply because I’ve seen the difference it’s made in my own life.
as someone that struggles with hormone imbalance that effects my skin, anxiety, depression + sleep problems, @rosebudcbd has been a game changer for me.
this is my new go-to, cure-all.
one being, it doesn’t get you high — like most people tend to assume.
I’ve added it into my daily routine both topically + orally and cant wait to share more about it #ontheblog with you soon!
I’ll also be sharing my personal beliefs with CBD — especially being a Christian, I think this oil can be quickly judged, so I’m stoked to share my thoughts with y’all about it ☼

I went to Vegas for the weekend. Not much of what I did was “healthy” or wellness related. I did have one green smoothie and also did a 20-minute yoga class in my hotel room thanks to @kait.hurley. Otherwise I dressed up in faux fur and wigs, danced until 3am, didn’t get much sleep, drank tequila, ate processed food and didn’t abide by any dietary restrictions.
Remember this: wellness is not perfection. Honestly sometimes I think that the wellness industry is just the diet culture 2.0. It can put so much stress on us to strive for perfection.
You must: eat clean, meditate, move your body everyday, follow trends that may not be right for your body, develop self-care rituals and the list goes on. If I were to always eat food that fit into a perfect box of wellness, I’d have to isolate myself socially and would be constantly consumed with thoughts of food. I definitely wouldn’t enjoy Vegas shenanigans with my friends and not caring about food or seeking out the healthiest options.
I also wouldn’t be doing my job as a Health Coach. I always tell my clients to leave perfection at the door, because it doesn’t exist. Your path to health and wellness is guided by your own definition and no one else’s. This will evolve, it will grow and change. We are intuitive beings who often ignore instinct in our quest for perfection. We ignore hunger, we cancel plans with friends, we force ourselves out of bed at 5am for a workout class that we are too tired to go to. Being intuitive is not just about what you eat. It’s more holistic than that. Maybe I’ll call it intuitive wellness and leave it at that ✨✌🏼

Be proactive. Be curious. Show up ready. Repeat. Spent most of the day shadowing in the OR with the Plastic Surgery team and absolutely LOVED it! What made today even better was being able to prep for the cases ahead of time by reading up on the procedures and reviewing relevant anatomy to better understand the surgeries. Ask questions, be observant, and genuinely express your interest - all things that allowed me to scrub in and even assist in the cases today!

It’s remarkable how plants can change the energy in your space. These tulips make me feel so excited to welcome the new season of spring next month, especially after this extra rainy (but necessary) winter in Los Angeles. We finally have a whole week of sunshine to look forward to and with daylight savings just a few weeks away it’s really starting to feel like spring is near. Happy Monday ☀️ #wellnesshoe
So I tried out this fun challenge from @coachzachdeck for the adductors🔥
Sidelying Hovers with a knee hinge. Wonderfully effective! Try it out and check his post, he’s a wizard 🧙♂️
I saw the post earlier in the day and thought: “wow that’s awesome, I’ll try those some time.”
Then a client sent the same post to me, and I figured I kinda had to at that point.
Not as smooth as Zach (who is!?) but they improved with a few sets, and I left my training session walking a bit differently 😂
Even tried upping the ante with some axial hip rotations - deeeelightful!
Yesterday I had the second gathering of my ministry, Suluhu, which is a Kiswahili word that means Reconciliation/Peace. This is a space for black women, GNC, gender fluid and non-binary folks to connect with Spirit, themselves and community. It’s all about the upreach, the inreach and the outreach. A gathering for us to take up a LOT of space, heal, share, and transform. The first gathering had a theme of Nina Simone’s “4 Women.” This gathering had a theme of bell hooks “All about love.” The next gathering is April for the Spring Equinox and the theme will be on Nikki Giovanni’s work “Winter Poem.” Message me with your email address if this sounds like something you need in your life! Thank you family that attended and thank you for trusting me to lead us to more healed ways of being in this world. 🌍 💚☀️🙌🏽💥 #mysupanaturallife#rekreation#mirakl3themessenger#pastorYaNi#healing#wholeness#wellness#elevation#purging#power#purpose#Godis#Loveis#community

Your core is not holey and solely stimulated by a series of exercises. Exercises are built on something far more foundational that stimulates the core and those two things are alignment of your structure and your breathing. You can be following all your favourite gram accounts with people who are savvy with pretty words and pretty pictures who day “do this exercise and get your core working”, but if your alignment is out and your breathing is crap no amount of “core” exercises are going to get that system firing. What does this mean? Your muscles attach to bones, if these bones are out of their alignment, muscles are either too long or too short and when not at resting tension do not fire appropriately. EVERY SINGLE BODY IS DIFFERENT. If I get someone coming into the studio and they have stress incontinence, chances are, they are a constant tail tucker or butt clencher and they only chest breathe. Alignment influences muscles! Your pelvic floor attaches to your sit bones, if your sit bones are constantly clenched together your pelvic floor only knows a shortened state and contraction. Muscles need to be adaptable and diverse. Not always in one state, they need to both be able to contract and let go. No muscle works in isolation, except perhaps the diaphragm. So all this crap of teachers saying “engage your core” and “pull up your pelvic floor” is just rubbish, every single body is different and without an assessment and education about your specific body, please don’t buy into the general cues as they may do you more harm then good! See an educated practitioner and sift through the garbage. •
1. Ayurvedic nutrition is NOT fat-free, carb-free or even alcohol-free!
2. An Ayurvedic doctor will be able to tell if a woman is pregnant by taking her pulse!
3. Ayurveda is derived from two words; ‘Ayur’ meaning life and longevity and ‘veda’ meaning knowledge.
4. Fresh food - yes but that doesn't necessarily mean raw food!
5. We are each made up of a different combination of the 5 elements and so the seasons of the year (as well as other environmental factors) affect our health. That's why some of us feel the cold more than others. #ayurveda#wellness#seasonal#fact#tridosha
WHAT DOES AN ANXIOUS PERSON LOOK LIKE? // I took this photo in Barcelona about three years ago. It was a time when I was riddled with anxiety. I had decided to eat one salad as my one “main meal” and one juice each day at this time because not only was the nervous energy sapping my hunger and making it easy to eat so little, but I believed starving myself a bit would help me to feel better about myself. I was recently single from a 6-year relationship and afraid of the dating world, feeling very self conscious and that excessive need to control my life was back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It didn’t last too long - I was flying high a week later in the Greek islands, so my appetite came back along with my joy for life, but to anyone who saw me on Instagram at this time in Barcelona, I would not have looked like an anxious person. Look, I mean, I had cool sunnies in the shot!! I was super chilled, right? Just eating “healthy” and loving it - supposedly.
So remember, an anxious person might look perfectly calm and like they have it all together. Mental health is literally going on inside a person, not on their exterior. It can be hard to spot (although I have a spidey sense for it 😉) in those around us, but it is there, especially in those who look like they’re bossing life. Why the need to be the boss, to control every detail, to watch their eating so carefully, to be so organised and perfect? Anxiety!! ✨
