When we talk about our unchangeable features, there are parts of us that we like, and there are other parts of us that we don’t like and can’t change. We are bombard daily with a message that says “you are only as valuable as your outward beauty.” And there are a lot of voices that give opinions as to what that “beauty” should look like. So we constantly trip over lies masked as opinions that say you are either “too much” or “not enough.” Our world believes in a one size beauty that fits all. People may look at outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. ✨

Until we get to a place where we accept our unchangeable features, we will always live a half-confident life. God wants to bring it all out into the open, so we are not ashamed of any part of us. If God wanted you to mirror the image of someone else, why would He go to the extent of making no two finger prints alike? Diversity is the essence of God’s creative expression. In a world that benefits from your self-doubt, loving yourself is a rebellious and holy act. As a woman of God, you are the crescendo of all creation. You bring beauty and life into all areas of life in a glorious way that only you can. As a temple of the Holy Spirit, you carry the throne room of God wherever you go. The very ground you stand on is holy. ✨

YOUR FEATURES WERE GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD: He designed your features in accordance with His plan. He allowed our bodies to look the way they do to show the world Himself through our external expression in a unique way. Every part of us is part of His plan to demonstrate His purpose for us on the earth. Beautiful, you were made in wonder. ✨

Learning to embrace our whole self: body, soul, and spirit, is the foundation of self-acceptance. Before you can walk fully in your calling, you have to fully love yourself. The more we learn to accept our bodies, the more we can accept the will of God for our lives while not forgetting to cultivate the inner qualities that last for eternity. You are beautiful, and that is the least interesting thing about you. #chosentoreign

But ultimately beyond that, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. You can overcome all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you. If you’re just starting out in creating this habit, don’t bite off more than you can chew. ⠀

Habits are developed over time. ⠀
⠀

  • I stepped away from my family for five years. I was not present. I called (sometimes), but when it was convenient for me – which was hardly ever. 
When God forces a sabbatical upon your life, it’s usually for a perfectly good reason. In my case, I’ve been learning the correlation between gospel and family ——> family and ministry. It’s important. It’s a lesson I thought I’d only be learning in marriage and with my own children. But, sometimes God doesn’t have us wait. Sometimes, He has a lesson prepared in the here and now.
___
So, I’m learning that ministry doesn’t have to come before family. Family should be at the forefront of your ministry. We will one day give account for the people God entrusted to us. I used to believe it was the ones who would listen, and follow, and sit at my feet. 
But in actuality, we will give account for the people God entrusted to us regardless of if they choose to hear us out or if they give you any inkling of leadership in their life. 
A true leader leads that which has been entrusted, not that which gives him or her status.

So in this season, I’m more thankful than ever to have days out in the sun with my family. I’m thankful for the hard days when communication feels as if it’s on the brink. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be present and give back to a family I almost sacrificed for the sake of ‘my’ vision for my life. This is a lesson I’m thankful to be learning, day in and day out. ♥️

  • Being candid, I really anticipate labor at the final stages of pregnancy. I know millions of women have done this millions of times, but I still get anxious. It is all a big unknown, and each delivery is different. Simply put, I am nervous.

So first I covet your prayers as I near the end. And then I am going to take a cue from some dear friends. Please send me your prayer intentions/requests as I plan to make a list and offer one up with each contraction and push. I also would like them in these last weeks so that every time I start worrying about labor, I focus on them instead. Thank you friends. 😘

  • What most of us forget while reading the Bible, is that the people within it, didn't know what was going to happen. They had no idea of the outcome. Noah didn't know what was going to happen when he started the ark. Abraham and Sarah didn't know what would happen when they left their comfortable homes in Ur. Nor did Abraham know what was about to happen when he was told to offer up Issac. Moses didn't know what was going to happen when he was sent to Egypt to release the Israelites. None of Jesus' disciples knew anything. We know the outcome. We've read the stories. But they did not. They where real people, who just had an outstanding trust and faith in God. They where us- now. °

When you think of that, it's easy to understand the Israelites' fear. Here they where, trapped between the Red Sea and Pharoah and the Egyptians. Put yourself in their place. The fear that they where likely feeling. Trapped. Not knowing what was going to happen. Moses likely wasn't even fully aware of what was about to take place. But Moses showed some outstanding faith and trust. Enough so he even told the Israelites to trust in their God. And what happened? God, through Moses, split the Red Sea for His people. It seemed hopeless to them, just like situations seem hopeless to us. But God provided away. And He can provide away for us too.

  • Philippians 4:10-23 | #contentment 
In verse 12 we discover that being content has NOTHING to do with being in plenty or want. That we can be content in EVERY situation because He dwells in us. Through Him. This is the key.
He gives us His strength.
Whatever we are lacking materialistically or in any form/fashion He provides strength.
Strength to live.
To do.
"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty, I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." (4:12-13)
He IS the secret.
I can live well fed or hungry.
I can live in plenty or in what.
I can live because He gives me strength.
Come what may.
"And my God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus." (4:19).
He doesn't promise to meet our needs the way we expect or think. But He does promise to meet them.
Exactly how we NEED.
And don't you think He knows that best?
This isn't just physical and financial. This is also emotional, mental and spiritual.
The Lord will provide.
Let us end with this:
Paul starts today's reading with "I rejoiced greatly in the Lord..."

  • I should have been thrilled… 
My Farmer presented me with not 1, but 2 enormous bouquets of flowers for Valentine’s Day (Sam’s club bounty!)
1. I didn’t have to remind him that it was Valentine’s Day
2. He knows that I prefer wildflowers to roses
3. He was showing me that he loved me
💜
So why wasn’t I thrilled? To me, these bouquets represented yet another task to check off my list (unwrap bouquets, trim stems, make vitamin water, gather vases, arrange flowers, and change water out frequency so that they will last longer). I am NOT a task oriented person. My Farmer and I have had countless conversations about this subject. He is task oriented, I am not. Tasks, to me, seem like an insurmountable pile of dirty laundry.

On Thursday I put the bouquets in water but it wasn’t until 2 days later that I finally trimmed down the bouquets to the right size to fit my vases and put them on better display - in my kitchen window, on my island, in bedrooms, and in my bathroom. They are lovely and make me happy just to look at them. Why hadn’t I taken the time to tend to these beauties before now?

The real problem was that as much as I was trying not to let on that I was not delighting in his gift, my Farmer knew it. He even went so far today as to apologize for giving me yet another task to do.
😔
Why… why did I foster an ungrateful attitude when I know how much he wants to please me?
Grumbling gets in the way of so much happiness. I chide my children for this often, yet here it was in full display in my own attitude.

What other gifts have we been given that we respond to with grumbling rather than delight? Children? Housekeeping? Meal preparation? Taking care of our bodies? Intimacy with our husbands?

  • Swipe for highlights of Exodus 14 - 18
Okay, to start with, I'd just like to apologize for my absence. Last week, I had received harassing comments because I had expressed a different religious opinion. I understand each religion teaches different things, and people interpret the bible differently but I would appreciate if people didn't harass me just because I have a different opinion. When I do my bible study and research, I read other bible translations and do other research outside my own religion just to solidify my own belief. Everyone can have their own opinion, but I would appreciate people not harassing me on my opinion. I had left this account because those comments put me in a bad place mentally and emotionally. So my posts will be sparce until I start to feel a little better. °

But let's see what can be learned from these chapters of Exodus. Let's push aside the Red Sea incident and look a little deeper. Let's focus on the Israelites' murmuring. Or their complaints. Their desire to go back to Egypt. Now, we might look at them and wonder how they could want such a thing. They where slaves in Egypt! But we forget, that they where humans. Just like us. And what do we do? We yearn for the past. The old days where so much then right now. Sometimes we want to go back to those toxic friends, that toxic relationship. Why? Because our minds are focused on the good they offered us- something we don't have right now. Our minds forget the bad. We only focus on the good. And that's what we miss. We start to complain that things where better than. The Israelites stopped being grateful, started thinking things in Egypt where better. They stopped focusing on what God had given  them- freedom from slavery. °

It's a trap all of us can fall into. To lose focus and gratitude for what we have right now, in the present. We need to keep focused on what God has given us now. Remember, not every thing we loss is really a lose. To help keep focused, and keep a grateful heart and spirit so we don't develop a complaining attitude, think about this; What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for tonight?

    Okay, to start with, I'd just like to apologize for my absence. Last week, I had received harassing comments because I had expressed a different religious opinion. I understand each religion teaches different things, and people interpret the bible differently but I would appreciate if people didn't harass me just because I have a different opinion. When I do my bible study and research, I read other bible translations and do other research outside my own religion just to solidify my own belief. Everyone can have their own opinion, but I would appreciate people not harassing me on my opinion. I had left this account because those comments put me in a bad place mentally and emotionally. So my posts will be sparce until I start to feel a little better. °

    But let's see what can be learned from these chapters of Exodus. Let's push aside the Red Sea incident and look a little deeper. Let's focus on the Israelites' murmuring. Or their complaints. Their desire to go back to Egypt. Now, we might look at them and wonder how they could want such a thing. They where slaves in Egypt! But we forget, that they where humans. Just like us. And what do we do? We yearn for the past. The old days where so much then right now. Sometimes we want to go back to those toxic friends, that toxic relationship. Why? Because our minds are focused on the good they offered us- something we don't have right now. Our minds forget the bad. We only focus on the good. And that's what we miss. We start to complain that things where better than. The Israelites stopped being grateful, started thinking things in Egypt where better. They stopped focusing on what God had given them- freedom from slavery. °

  • One week ago, I was getting ready for a party at my leadership conference in LA, with my name up in lights outside the hotel 🥂

Tonight, I’m ready for bed at 9pm and super proud of myself for getting all the laundry done, dinner cleaned up, surviving a solo outing with all 5 kids to a birthday party, and finding the right Daniel Tiger book to read at bedtime 🥳
.

The trips are so fun 🏝 And the friendships are amazing 🤗
.

But the best part of my job is that I don’t have to stop my normal mom life to do it 🥰 I don’t have to miss the important things in their lives, or scramble to find rides to activities for them or constantly be looking for babysitters like I used to. .

And since the beginning of the year, I’ve made as much with my coaching business as I would have if I were subbing for a local gymnastics club for 140 hours. WHAT?! That’s 7-weeks worth of subbing at a gym...and I can’t imagine NOT being with my babies for all that time. PLUS that doesn’t even factor in babysitting costs 😱

This question was asked several times at my conference, and I want to pass it on to you...WHY NOT YOU? .

  • This school year has been one of the hardest and most exhausting years for me.⠀
I’ve been emotionally, physically, and mentally drained more so than I have ever been.⠀

But, it’s also been a year that has grown and shaped me and brought me closer to God.⠀

I’ve had many days where I just went out over my lunch period. Simply because I needed to get out. I needed a break. ⠀
And while driving, songs would come on the radio that spoke to my heart. Songs that reminded me to lean into Him. To give my worries, my doubts, my everything to Him. To trust in Him and know that He would take care of me.⠀

I’ve had so many nights where I just stood in the hot shower, again, listening to music, singing my praise to Him, and letting the tears and emotions pour out.⠀

He has worked in my heart and used this harder than usual year to guide me closer to Him. He is good.

So this pen nib is wearing down pretty quickly. It’s not as clean and predictable as it was at first. The only times I’ve used it is for the videos I’ve posted and most of them are just one take. It might be partly the paper texture but that can’t be the whole reason. Love the color though!

  • Like everyone, I have dreams, aspirations, and goals. But sometimes, or most of the time, these goals do not happen as soon as I want them. 
Developing a grateful heart tremendously help me to overcome my discontentment and impatience. So how can one develop a grateful heart? 
One practical way is to keep a gratitude log. Every day I write something I am thankful for. By counting my blessings, I am continuously reminded of how loved and blessed I am so when my dreams do not happen, I can still face the day with joy. 
Of course, the greatest secret is to have Jesus in one’s life.
