Enter Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva 1997.
Established in 1761 this Barolo producer has immense history and acclaim. 
All respect is given to mother nature, and no chemical fertilizers or herbicides are used in the winemaking process. 
The 2019 harvest marks a special achievement as the winery will become organic.

The 1997 Barolo Riserva is 100% Nebbiolo, and aged for four years in big Slavonian oak barrels.
The cork was in perfect condition. 
Dark red in colour with a fragrant bouquet of red fruits.
On the palate there is amazing structure, with lush red fruit flavours and spectacular length.

  • Discovery No.2. Domaine Yvon Clerget. The irony couldn’t be bigger here, Thibaud Clerget is only 27 but he represents the 28th generation of his family to make wines in Volnay and Pommard. No pressure!

Like many of his contemporaries, Thibaud travelled extensively in New Zealand, made vinifications at Hudelot Noellat and Drouhin in Oregon before landing back in his family Domaine in 2015.
2017 is the first vintage that he tried using whole bunches for all except Clos Vougeot (50%). The wines have lovely floral aromatics, crystal purity and a lot of core sweetness that is a little coy. Totally my dig. Oak treatment is unobtrusive, zero new oak for village, 20-30% new oak for 1er cru and 50% for Grand Cru. Look for the Volnays!

  • 며칠전 처음으로 마셔봤던 호주산 디저트 와인! 안에 금가루가 들어있어서 잔에 따랐을때 반짝반짝 하는게 예뻤다. 한입 마셨을때 꿀과 복숭아를 섞은듯한 단맛이 입안에 퍼졌고, 술맛도 조금 났다. 그리고 단맛 때문인진 모르겠지만 약간 찐득한? 점도를 느낄수 있었다. 완전 파티용 술 :) 기억해놨다가 또 마주친다면 사서 꼭 다시 마셔야지!

El vino como la amistad, no caduca.

Mejora con los años, quizás porque vas apreciando más su sabor.

Es la chispa que da calor a tus días, aunque a veces, se sirva frío.

Nunca tiene el mismo color ni la misma textura.

Todo depende de ti, de saber apreciar el momento.

A veces, te beberías la botella entera, otras te empachas con tan solo la primera copa.

Te hace reir.

Te hace llorar.

Saca lo mejor y lo peor de ti.

Está contigo para celebrar cada triunfo pero también cada fracaso.

Te hace sentir tan agusto, que siempre te deja con ganas de más. 
Puedes tomarlo sola o acompañada.

Te hace hablar. 
Las palabras salen solas, sin pensar.

Te vuelves transparente, como la copa en la que viene servido.

Encontrar un buen vino es difícil.

Encontrar un buen amigo, todavía más. . .
