  • This evening kicks off weekend 4 of YTT! Last night I was reading Being of Power to my husband before bed (super fun way to get my reading done for YTT btw) and I was reading the chapter titled “Let it Be” this was super hard for me to swallow because the whole chapter was about not trying to fix everything or change things, but rather to accept things exactly as they are. I used to be a total free spirit. In fact my parents would even refer to me in that way. But ever since graduating from college, I feel like my job as an event planner and being forced into adulthood has made me such a planner and a fixer to the point where I’m starting to not recognize myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I am happy to be more organized than I was in college and before. Organization is a good thing. But I have started to plan every detail of my life and it’s just getting out of hand😅 it was refreshing and challenging to read that we must accept things as is before real change can happen because what we resist persists. Especially because after recognizing that I’ve become such a planner and fixer, my first instinct is to ask “how do I fix this!?” 🙈😂So to end this little caption, I’m not going to offer any positive spin on this or any sort of solution. I’m just putting this out there for y’all to read, and for myself as a way to accept where I’m at in life and just be with it ✨🌸

After yesterday’s post, it became clear that many of y’all are spending lots of time and money researching and buying products.
•
If you’re going to invest in supplements, there are a few tips I have to make sure you’re getting items that will actually help you and not potentially harm you.
•
First, supplements are NOT regulated by the FDA. That means that I could wake up today and decide to manufacture XYZ item in my garage. I could slap a label on a bottle and sell it to you. That’s scary.
•
All the more reason to make sure what you’re buying at the very least won’t harm you!
•
Look for products that carry the USP seal, or are cGMP or NSF Certified. These are great indicators that quality processes are in place.
•
Also, be aware that some nasty crap you try to avoid in your food (like gluten, dairy, soy, artificial dyes and sweeteners) can be found in many products. They are sneaky little things called excipients that are pharmacologically inactive but could derail your health efforts if you’re avoiding those ingredients because of an allergy or sensitivity.
•
I could literally go on and on about supplements for days. How ‘bout we call this post Supplements Part 1 and go from there?! 😉
•
