  • Downtown Dawson City in the wintertime is like a fairy tale!
.
After our amazing dog sledding adventure we jumped on a small prop plane and flew up to Dawson City, the old Gold Rush-era town in the north of the Yukon.
.
Everything about this trip was like stepping back in time, right down to the flight itself where you don't go through security and you don't get an assigned seat. You just show ID at the gate and walk on the plane! One guy was even on the wrong flight, and had to quickly jump off when the air hostess said what our destination was over the speakers 😂
.
Once we got there we couldn't believe just how cute Dawson is, especially in winter with everything covered in snow. Most of the buildings are exactly the same as when they were first built over 100 years ago, and many of them are on extreme leans due to being on permafrost.
.
We only had one day and night in Dawson, and we spent that time walking around taking pics, chatting to friendly locals and getting a guided tour from town legend Jesse at The Klondike Experience.
.
Oh, and we of course drank a cocktail with a severed human toe in it.
.
This place was seriously beautiful and we can't wait to return again in the summertime.
